Question for everyone serious opinion needed

Hey all,
I havent been on this site for a while but for those of you who remember me,greeting to you.

I have a idea to start a company and I need some input. Here is my question, mainly pertaining to you members who have children, but any opinion is gladly appreciated.IF a new stuffed animal company started that you have never heard of comes out with animals that were high quality that were of equal quality or better, comparable to those of mattel ect, would you buy it?

Makes no difference to me what company the toy is made by. If I want to buy a toy and the toy is good, I'll buy it. I rarely bother looking at the brand.

So I guess my answer is 'yes'.

Cass.

As long as there wasn't a huge difference in price and the toy was good quality I would buy it yes.

I voted "no." Only because "Mattel" wouldn't cut it for me...If you'd said "Steiff " I would have definitely said "YES YES YES!!!"

It would all boil down to the design of the stuffed toys. If we're talking dogs, they'd have to look very realistic/lifelike OR adorably cute (but not in a freaky way eg huge eyes) for me to buy them. I have a question for you, what is going to set your product apart from the rest, besides quality?

That is a question that has been addressed to me many times.Quite honestly,I have some ideas in mind that would set me apart.I've been pondering 2 animals so far.My first idea is a polar bear variation.Second would be one based off my lab pup.

Also this may shock you but I am 19,actually turned 19 the 25th of last month, so any advice would be taken to heart.I am not one of those types of teenagers who things of a idea with friends, thinks about it then abandons it a week later.I have been posting on multiple online forums so far and I have gotten good suggestions/responses.

Here are the things I WILL be doing if I do venture into this:
1)quality of products. This is something I will not short out on
2)I will use ebay for the first X months or so to test the waters

Thumbs up

Good for you & good luck with your business!
My ex-inlaws have been doing this for years & have a great business.
My ex MIL makes customized Ragedy Ann & Andy type dolls & My
ex FIL makes doll houses & furniture. They make an excellent income from it. They go to craft shows & put out business cards & that is all. The Dolls are known for thier durability. They do it all with no computer or real advertisement (except shows & business cards).
I think you have a great outlet with the net. These people are old fashion & find that a computer is to much time, where they could be making orders.

Good luck w/the business! Let us know if you start it and post pictures of the toys
I would buy the toys if they were well made, reasonably priced and cute. Brand name isn't a deal for me, especially when the dogs will eventually destroy the toy anyway.
