Christmas Presents: what did you give and get?

Give: I gave one of my sisters a Get Fuzzy calendar, a cat's catalog, and a CD holder for her car visor. I went in on a present for my Mom, went in on gift cards for my brother-in-laws, bought a Chocolate Lab sweater with my Mom for my dad, gave books to relative, got the girls some treats with Mom. (GOTTA DROP OFF DONATIONS TO SHELTER, TOO!)

Got: I got a "Three spoiled dogs live here" sign from my parents , a crazy straw from sister, a pack of cards from same sister, a cute sweater and matching scarf and a pair of jeans from other sister, two DVDs from brother-in-law, a black-and-tan Dachshund bag (I'll have to get a picture on here), and dog calendar, $50 from relative, gift card and Chocolate Lab puppy wallet from Aunt.

I bought every niece and nephew a FOX sweatshirt ( we are a big motorcycle family) and lots of stickers. The adults in my family draw secret Santa names and I got my Dad. I bought him a motorola walkie-talkie set that has a 7 mile range. He lives in the mountains in the desert of California. I always worry about him going hiking and getting bit by a snake and not being able to tell my Mom where he is. I bought all the animals in my whole family lots of toys and treats and made little gift baskets out of small metal buckets and braided twine for the handels. I painted little Santas, snowmen and dogs and cats on the buckets and filled them up with doggy and kitty goodies.

Aw, how cute! I bet they loved those.

My Doxie bag is actually in the shape of a dog....so cute, has a collar and tags around it's neck and a bow on it's tail.

I got: 1/2 of my computer paid off, 1/4 from each parent...as a "going to college" type gift. I actually got the computer a few weeks ago, so Christmas was uneventful as far as further gifts go, then again, I place little importance on material possessions anymore.

To be honest, my parents really have no idea what to "get" me anymore, so I usually end up with a handful of gift cards, which is fine by me I got a few for Best Buy and shall be spending an hour or two there tomorrow.

I also bought myself a few books to add to my library... "The Prince" by Machiavelli, "1984" and "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, "The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, "Fahrenheit 451", by Ray Bradbury (Notice that that is not Fahrenheit 911, the movie by Michael Moore), and "Utopia" by Thomas More and Clarence H. Miller. (No, I am not a communist, nor a socialist)

I got my Mother a Snoopy stained glass ornament from 1954.
I got my Father a full edition of Harper's Weekly from July of 1861.
I got my Quincy a bag of dog treats.

GIVE
Anothony (my brother): Corel something or other (It's a program that lets you fool around with pics, its like Photoshop but easier to operate)
Gracinha (mum): Sand Creation (It's this Japanese thing where there's a small rectangle box type thing with sand in it and you strategically place stone and a few candles and then you have a couple rakes and you just move the sand around with them making designs, it's supposed to relax people and it really does especially my mum who is constantly homesick for Brazil)

Richard (dad): Two suade shirts

Dylan (cousin, had him in our name exchange): Tonka Truck

And then I got a bunch of Random things for my friends but they're too many to list LOL

Oceano (Siberian Husky): rawhide, treats, pig ears, greenies, sponge bob squeekie toy, devil ball squeekie toy, tennis ball, and a Christmas Hankerchief (but he got that one a couple weeks ago)

GOT
Clothes, money, jewlery, a picture frame, a photo album, a light/mister/fountain thingy, dog scooter (it was my birthday and x-mas gift since it was fairly expensive), a piggy bank, stuffies, lots of chocolate, and more money LOL

Cheers!

I had to read Animal Farm in middle school. It was required reading and we had to do lots of reports and essays on it. It's a great book, it made me really wonder about Big Brother! LOL

We had a nice quiet Christmas. My good friends gave me a basket FULL of all sorts of awesome goodies she had baked with her husband. I was given a new printer that I really needed.. the old one needs retiring. Got 100 bucks to go towards Oscars future vet bills. I got a cooling rack for all the breads I love to bake, a fine ribbon grater for some of the desserts I bake.. and a few other things. Gave dad a new sander, he loves to work with wood, and mother got a bunch of neat little knick knacks.. she has everything else. LOL The pugs got many toys. This was Bentley's first Christmas with me, so we did it up good.
