Thanks everyone! I can't wait to introduce y'all to my Grey.

Doglover, when he asked about preferences I thought about age, but I never really decided what age range would be optimal. I don't want a senior dog (I want a better paying job before I commit to likely regular vet bills/additional maintenence costs) nor do I want a puppy. They had a 2 year old dog here today and she was a sweetie, but I wondered if a slightly older dog would be better energy-wise since we don't have a dog of equal size for it to play with. So 3-7 years of age would probably be ideal, but I think I'd rather look at dogs of all ages rather than limiting myself by any outward characteristic (is age an outward characteristic? lol). Energy level will be more important than age, simply because I don't want one playful Grey with no other dog to play with! I can exercise it, but that's just not as fun as a doggie buddy, I think. So I'm hoping for a youngish/middle-aged dog, I think, but I'm really trying to stay completely open to any dog that fits our home personality-wise. I can't wait to find that dog! *sigh*

I'm going to be checking my e-mail for those profiles like mad tomorrow. Can't wait!

A 2 year old grey definitely has a lot of puppy in them still! 18months-2 years are about the youngest you'll find them in adoption groups (though puppies are becoming available more often it seems) I'd say 3-4 years old is where you really start to see them mature. My first grey was 4 1/2 when I adopted her. With a lifespan of 10-12 years, you still have lots of time to spend with a 'middle-ager" Technically seniorhood starts at 7-8 depending on who you ask...though I don't consider our dogs seniors until they are in double digits!

That's what I figured KennelMom. I just can't wait to start seeing profiles! Good thing I have to be on the computer today anyway to write a final paper. Hehe! It's hurry up and wait again. *sigh* I just can't believe after waiting so long the home check is finally done and I could find the right Grey any time now! Makes me want to run around squealing... lol I was so excited yesterday, but I had to watch this movie for school, so I'm watching Pride and Prejudice and I LAUGHED all the way through it. I get the giggles all over again thinking about it. Hehe.
