Snow Shoveling

OK, so this has nothing to do with dogs, but....

Why does everyone run out and bust their butt to shovel their driveway when it snows? What's the point? I just drive over it and guess what? It eventually melts.

I don't shovel my driveway, my buddy who rents my basement offered to do it! WOOHOO!

Unfortunately, we have to shovel and salt around here. We won't get our mail delivered if we don't, and I'm too concerned about slip and falls if someone should come here to not do it. (even if it was me having to do it!)

Unfortunately we kind of have to. Our driveway is long and sloped, so if it's not cleared off after a snow, it will eventually turn into a glacier (it's all shady so it's sloooooooooow to melt). When it turns into a glacier, I can't get my car up to the top where I park, which means I've got to hoof it up to the house (not to mention my car would be just sitting out in the middle of the driveway, all willy-nilly). We've already had UPS trucks that couldn't make it up our driveway when it's icy.

So we're stuck snowblowing.

We shovel snow for two reasons. 1.) something about us getting out of our car and falling into a two foot snow drift and 2.) So we don't track it into our house! lol We make sure our porch at the very least is shoveled off so when we open up the door a foot of snow won't come falling in!
