Has anyone donated?

Hi all,
you know the Tidal wave on boxing day or the day after xmas day in Thiland and tnose other countries has anyone donated to them yet?
I have i sent off £5 and we are going to give them some blankets and clothes for them!!
Horrible hey! The death toll is still going up but at least it was during the day and not the night coz other wise there will be more people dead!!
Hope you all have a happy new year but please think about the other people in those countries who had their lives taken from them!!

Milo, how sweet of you to donate to them. I haven't yet, then again, the only place I've gone outside of the house since that day, other than friend's houses is school for fight rehersals so I haven't exactly gotten the chance too.....

I've seen some pretty bad videos...the Canadian News doesn't show anyone getting washed away or hurt, but the Portugese News does and it is just heart wrenching to see!

I heard a woman being interviewed and she said they lost everything, pots and pans and fruit and spices. Think of that. To her that was significant. That was all they had to lose.
It is a devastating tragedy. For tourists yes, but for the locals it is much worse.Their fight for life has just started. Meaning of Christmas may not be so well understood there, but please keep them in your prayers and help if you can.

My friend Marlina (United Flight attenant) went to Thailand for vacation and to visit her sick mom a week before Christmas. She was supposed to be back here in Seattle yesterday for work. She didn't show up and no one has heard from her. We are calling everyone we can think of to see if they have heard from her and so far no one has. I am sure she just got delayed coming home but because she didn't show up for work without calling....I'm very worried. I don't know if her mom lives near the coast or not. I am just keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what figures are flying around in America, but here in Germany they are saying 120,000 dead and predicting it to rise to 200,000. It's ironic that the Western world celebrates Christmas and the New Year while thousands of people are literally fighting for their lives.

They say that Christmas is the time of good will and giving. I can not think of a more nobler cause than to help these people. 5 dollars / pounds / Euro's or what ever currency you may have will not bankrupt anyone, and if we all donated a little the result would be amazing.

This tragedy breaks my heart. I've donated and since I work for the government and we send people over in emergency crises such as this, I would jump on the opportunity to go if I'm allowed.

Barrett- My prayers are also now for your friend. Hopefully, you're right and she's just got delayed.
