I really wasn't pleased with some of the group placements at all. I did like the Bouv and Akita, however. I hated that the GSD was placed at all, and I did not want James to win. Arg...

The pointer was .. well, by conformation standards, that pointer was ugly. Horrible head, and I hated her topline during her gaiting. Arrg.. how did that dog even make it out of the breed ring? I saw MUCH better dogs that that one in teh breed ring videos already posted on the website.. Perhaps the pointer judge needs to make an appointment with an eye doctor because jeesh!

ick, another disappointed viewer...

There were FAR superior dogs in the ESS breed ring but I knew all along he was gonna take it.

Don't get me wrong, James did show QUITE well during BIS but I still think that another dog or two deserved it more than him.

Ah well, glad I'm not part of that scene, but now I do fret about the puppy mill problem AND popular sire syndrome... wonder how many times he'll be bred now? *puking*

D. Schaferhund - Westminster is an AKC show, so they use the AKC breed standards.

James showed quite well, but personally I liked Harry the Dandie Dinmont. We've seen him in person a few times and he is really something special to interact with. Maybe I'm biased, but I would've had a hard time picking...

I also wanted to point out that in the Herding Group, Harry Potter won the first group placing ever for a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. If I remember correctly, he is the top winning male Cardi in history, so what a fitting honor for him!!

Thanks, i am not too involved and interested in these shows, but sometimes i likewatching them, that explains a lot...

I am by far not an expert on the breeds going through there, but i have a good picture in my head about some breeds and how they are supposed to look, or what a good dog looks like..
some running in the show looked very different...

i agree the GSD shouldn't have been placed, but well what do i know about the GSD standard of AKC...

I liked the Elkhound, and the CBGV (sp?)
