What are freinds for?

As a lot of you probably know, i help my best friend a lot with her animals. I helped her to start learning how to train dogs, i adopted Stinky from her, and almost adopted Snowman from her.
Well, now she needs help agian..
Her mom and her are moving into a great house next to a big western pleasure horse ranch. One problem though, no dogs allowed. Ive always been there for her to send a dog to if she needed to. Unfortunatly, i can only take one of the 2 ESS (Nikki the Pit Bull went to her aunt's house). I let them choose what one to send to me. They chose Simetra, and Andi (pregnant) had to go to a shelter.
They are going to drop Simetra, Simetra's crate, and a big bag of dog food off here tomarrow. I feel horrible that poor Andi is going to be having her pups in a stranger's care. But, im glad to help Simetra. My friend's mom is also going to drop off spaying-money. While Simetra is in my care, i am going to get her spayed, train her more, and, if they still cant take her back, im going to find a new home for her.
This is exciting for me. In the past i have taken in at least 10 different strays and found their homes, but if they didnt have one, we took them to the best shelter we could find. But, this is different, im going to be keeping Simetra until the big bag of dog food runs out, and maybe, just maybe, Simetra will succeed in worming her way into my families heart, so that she can have a home with her brother and people she knows. But, that is only if she does good here, if not then im going to send her to a good home that has time and money for her. I already have someone in mind, but i have to see if she can have a dog (she offered to take A.j. on walks everyday and i think she would take good care of Simetra). If she cant, i will be putting an ad up for her. I will probably sell her for a reasonable price, so that i know the buyer will take good care of the dog they payed for. I will decide the price after i see how far she is in her training.
Im getting a little ahead of everything, here. First thing im going to do is make sure Simetra is comfortable and not worrying about her owners leaving her. I think she will be fine because A.j. will comfort her.
Well, thats all for now. I will post pictures of her once i get them onto this computer, and i will post updates as they happen.

Wow, that's great that you are able to take on the one dog, but poor Andi!

Why would your friend even think about moving if she couldn't take the dogs though? That really makes my blood boil. I'm sure she could've found a place that would allow them.

Yeah, im mad about it too, but my friend and i are 14, so it was her mom's decision. I still dont know why her mom would do that, though. If my mom wanted to move and get rid of all our dogs, i would chain me and the dogs together so she couldnt seperate us. My friend went through a mental breakdown last night, becuase first her rat dies, then she has to sell her horse, and then she has to get rid of all the other animals, i feel bad for her. Im sure she would hate her mom if there werent horses to distract her.

Ok, i just uploaded Simetra's pictures. Here they are:

One day old.

About 4 weeks old.

About 3 months old. This is one of my favorites of her.

Sulking on the couch.

Sleeping in the sun (my friend's old house had skylights). You can see A.j.'s front leg and shoulder.

Wanting to play fetch.

Spoiled Simetra (in my friend's lap).

A cute picture of her.

On the 4th of July. We were sitting out in my friend's front lawn, trying to catch pictures of fireworks, but couldnt, instead we caught pictures of Simetra and Andi. Simetra always "accidentally" stacks up perfectly, as shown in the first picture.

Ok, thats all. I will probably take pictures of her when she gets here tomarrow. She is a gorgeous girl. And, in any of the pictures, the date might not be right, if you take my digital camera, take the batteries out, and put them back in, it will reset the date, and i was too lazy to fix it. Then i found out how to take the date stamp off the pictures. Anyway, thats the dog that i will be adopting/puppy-sitting.

Wow, you're a very good friend for helping her out. It's unfortunate that Andi has to go to the shelter. They couldn't find anyone to take her either? Poor girl, I wish her the best.

Is your family big about ESS's, like you are? If so then I could almost bet they'd fall for her But, if not, I'm sure you'll do the absolute best to find her the greatest home.

Good luck, and keep us posted. We'd love to hear about her.

Thanx! Yeah, i wish i could take her, since she knows me, and let her have her pups in peace, but i think my family would kill me. We are a zoo even without Simetra. The only reason they arent getting her a good home is because they are moving tomarrow, so they still have to pack and send Simetra down here (an hour away from where they live now). If it was my choice, i wouldnt let them move until they got her a home, the only reason they bred her the first time is because they were low on money so they sold the pups for money, and now they just throw her away, my friend's mom has made me mad a LOT of times before, but this is just horrible.

They kind of are, my whole family has always been fans of the Sporting group. We used to breed Golden Retrievers. My friend has brought Simetra with her to spend the night a lot of times before. My sister LOVES Simetra, because Simetra smiles, and my mom likes that too, but my mom loves any sweet dog. My mom also likes female dogs. My dad likes all dogs, but definantly likes gundogs the most. My brother doesnt really express his feelings towards the dogs much, he does like to play with A.j. so i think he would like Simetra, too. If we had a bigger home, im sure we would take Simetra and Andi, but our house is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, no-dining room type of house and there are already 5 people, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rats, and bird living here. Accually, in a way, its a 3 bedroom house. When we moved in about 14 years ago, there was a seperate building, garage and shop. My dad built on it and now it is a bedroom with studio (my dads an artist) so my brother (19 years old) is sleeping out there until he finds an apartment of his own. Ok, back to the point, yes, i am going try my hardest to get her into a good home, she is a great dog, but can get aggressive when male dogs are around, so i will make sure her new home (if there is one) will be aware of that.

Yeah, i will definatly keep everyone posted, i think thats why im addicted to GP now, its kind of like a diary, if something big happens, i can tell everyone and no one gets annoyed with me. I will probably post again tomarrow to tell everyone if Simetra is settled in or if the plans changed or something. Thanx!

Oh wow.

I'm sorry you are being put in that situation.

I know for a FACT that ESS rescue would help them place Andi. If you don't want to contact them, I will once she's listed on PetFinder.

If you can't care for Simetra (I hope I spelled that right) then PLEASE, contact ESS rescue. They understand that you can't be expected to care for another dog. Every bit of contact I've had with them has been positive.

You are a wonderful person for trying to help like this. If you have any questions about ESS rescue, PLEASE PM me.

Thank you so much! If we dont keep Simetra, i will most likely put an ad up on ever dog/ESS recues and sales sites that i can find and, in case someone close wants an ESS, i will put an ad up in our town's store and library, too.

Good on you for helping out Simetra and I'm sorry about Andi - but SpringerLover's post about contacting ESS rescue should be able to find at least a short term solution for her.

Your mom must be a very special lady to let you take in another dog. Guess it's where you get your big heart. Bless you for helping as much as you do.

Update:

Everything is going great so far! Andi was not taken to a shelter, but instead taken to my friend's mom's friend, Ricardo. He knows a lot about dogs and ESS and he owns A.j.'s brother, Red.
My friend's mom delayed everything a little bit, so Simetra is coming later tonight or tomarrow.

Just in case anyone is curious (but mainly because i like to share my pictures ), here are pictures of the dogs Andi will be living with:

Winnie, i dont know what breed she is but shes really playful and nice.

A.j.'s brother, and Andi's son, Red, he is also really playful and nice.

And, of course, their new addition to the family:

Andria Anderson, aka: Andi.

Andi is used to Winnie, Red, and Ricardo, so im sure she is now in great hands and will have her pups safely.

As for Simetra, im going to try to give her the best home possible, and if not im going to make sure the home she goes to will be a good one.

Thank you so much, SpringerLover, for being so concerned and being ready to help out, your a true ESS hero!

Oh, and i found more pictures of Simetra, but with A.j., too:

About 4 weeks old. Simetra is the one in the front and A.j. is all the way in the back. The other 2 pups is their brother, Rootbeer (left), and their sister, Sammy (right).

A.j. and Simetra playing at 3 months old.

About 6 months old, they had just gotten in from playing in the sprinklers.
