Soooo, do you believe in ghosts?
To tell this story I have to go back about 12 years. My boyfriend (now hubby) and I lived in an apartment in an old brick house. It had those really old, wide, window ledges on the outside. It was the middle of January and below zero one night; as I was cooking dinner I looked at the window and this jet black gorgeous cat was sitting there. He followed me from room to room, always sitting on the window ledge watching me. It was so cold outside, we brought him in. He stayed for a while, ate some dinner, and finally asked to go back out. We didn't know if he belonged to someone so we let him out. The next night, we discoved tracks going into an old shed and found out he was living there. It was still below zero out - so we brought him in and kept him from then on.
We had him for ten years before he died almost 2 years ago from cancer. Now, heres the ghostly part... About 3 weeks ago, I let the dogs out back, and opened the blinds on the window looking over our back yard so i could keep an eye on them. My 2 yr old son got very upset and said "No mama close the window kitty is scary" At the time I though there must have been a reflection from the tv or something on the window. A couple days later it happend again, so I said, what kitty, honey? He answered, the kitty in the window. Hmmmm. So not knowing what else to say I just told him kitty's aren't scary, and reminded him that he loves our cat. (We have one cat left). So, a couple days later, we walked into the living room, and my son says to me, Mommy, the kitty in the window isn't scary anymore. (I forgot to tell you we live in a house without window ledges now - he has never seen a kitty sitting there) The next day, Dutchess was barking at nothing (I thought) so I asked her what the heck she was barking at. My son answered, "she's barking at the kitty mommy." Ok, at this point I'm feeling creepy. My hubby asked him what color the kitty was, and he said "Black". Now, sometimes he will say the kitty isn't in the window, or he will say "Hi kitty" to the window, and yesterday, to top it off, he said, "Mommy, the kitty in the window loves me". My boss insists young children see ghost because they haven't learned not to. I am inclined to believe it. The thing is, now I am starting to feel bad if he is sitting out there in the cold looking in - I mean, why not come inside? Ok, now you probably think I'm nuts, huh? So, who believes in ghosts and isn't afraid to admit it??? ETA, Pic... ![]() |

Ok, you just creeped me out.
Funny thing is, I don't believe in ghosts. But that's just scary. My best friend in primary school did once tell me she had a female ghost in her house who opened doors and 'checked on' the kids at night, she'd sit next to you on the couch and you'd feel her weight press into the cushion and you could smell her perfume (a scent that no one in the house wore). Scared the heck outta me, although I don't believe it for a second. LOL That's me though...the more unrealistic it is, the more it scares me. I'm a big fraidy cat. Cass. |

I believe that the spirt of people can come back. I won't go in to the details because I think that I have already told the story before on this website but I have seen the spirt of my my sister who commited suicide when she was 19. It was very comforting to me ( I was 15 at the time).

My husband and I both used to work at an old bowling alley. Our bosses father built the place himself. And I dont quite think he ever left.
Behind the lanes there is a small storage room, with stairs to the second floor. There were plenty of times you could hear someone walking up those stairs, when you got up to check there would be no one there. The door at the top of them was always locked, so its not like someone could have gotten inside before you got to see them. Pages on the calender or work log would ruffle in the "breeze" when your sitting there, and there was no breeze. Plently of times it would just "feel" like someone was there. Lights would turn on and off. When you were up front you could hear someone upstairs working, different door, but again its locked also. My husband swore up and down that on busy nights you could "ask Tony" for help and suddently all of the mechanical problems would stop. (These are old machines, they don't just stop having problems all of a sudden). You could hear pile ups, but then something (or someone) would fix them... Tony just wanted to make sure his ol bowling alley was being taken care of. Then there is the church down the street from my MILs house. It always gave me the creeps, just something about it. Then we got Kino... he REFUSES to walk past this building. A few times he would stand and growl at the door... but mostly he would either refuse to walk past it and would turn back around, or he would run full speed past the place. I never "saw" anything there, but I believe something is there. |

I definitely believe in ghosts. My grandmother died 10 years ago. When she died, my mom get all her hummel figurines (they both collected them) and now almost every day, one or two of the hummels are turned around, and my mom has to fix them. She's used to it and just says..."geez mom, would ya knock it off!" My brother has had a few incidents since her death as well....books falling of the shelf, and lights on and off. I've never had anything happen to me though....probably because I want it to!

I've never seen a ghost, but I enjoy ghost stories
![]() As for whether or not I believe in them - I believe anything is possible. I'm a chemist, so 200 years ago, everything I've learned and everything I do in my job would have been considered magic or witchcraft... now it's just everyday knowledge. Similarly with ghosts, I think just because we don't yet understand or have an explanation doesn't mean they don't exist. Who knows, in 200 years, someone will figure out what a "ghost" really is and it will be common knowledge then. I hope that made sense, I've got a killer cold and just took my "nighttime" (read: "knock-you-out") cold medicine. ![]() Cheers, Joanne ![]() |

Oh yes I believe in ghosts.
I've actually seen things, and oh man have I heard things. And to be honest when it happens you are just so stunned that you can just watch for what feels like minutes before you react, and by react I mean either run, turn on a light, or close your eyes... lol. |
