Look what that nasty storm did!!!
Hi
I don't know how many of you got hit by that nasty storm. I pulled the dogs in the house last night, because they predicted nasty thunderstorms, and knowing that my temporary kennels are not the dryest or sturdiest right now, i wanted to be smart and bring the dogs in, but nothing happened over night. So i went to dogtraining, the wind still the same... but Kennels were fine... So i loaded up the dogs and went to dogtraining... i got pretty antsy when i noticed the wind changed from south to west, knowing the wind will get cought in the heavy tarp i have over the Kennels.... Last time it was that windy, i had to unty the tarp to keep the kennels from flying away, luckly they are sitting in front of a piped fence so they have additional hold. But I even then was standing on the Kennels, trying to untie the tarp, to keep them from flying and felt like beeing on a teter-toter with 10footballplayers on the other side... We are getting ready to put in permanent Kennels, we had to clean of the area where we want to pu them... What i came home to this night, makes me think i really should hurry with that, and best sink them in the earth to get them tornadoproof.... ![]() ![]() Well we have work to do tomorrow... Man i just am glad no dogs were in it.... The way they look they were probaly up in the air quite a bit, you don't really see it on the pics, but they were moved over a bit, too... Natures forces.... |

Oh that would be so scary living in tornado alley. Have you experienced any tornados yet (I'm not sure how long you've been living in Oklahoma for)?

Looks like it was all pretty nasty - but as you say very fortunate there weren't any dogs in the kennels at the time.Do your dogs seem to act differently when there's a tornado coming (you know like that sixth sense thing they say animals have when it comes to weather?) |

Hi
It was nasty, i had a hard time driving home! Well we haven't had any tornados here, yet, well not close to our home! Thank goodness! We were a couple times under tornadowatch, but so far nothing! But as far as I am told, were we live not many tornados come down! They are more towards the southeast /south or northeast! so luckly we did not have to deal with them... I have my plan made out though, might be tight in the causet with six or more dogs, and me, but it has to work! Just am worried about the horses and the piped fencing, wonder if they could escape! But that storm yesterday was rel bad, yeah and it really was ornage, and dusty.. at trainimng i got "attacked" by a lawnchair! Well Kennels are fixed, now! Dogs are back out, just have to finish tieing down the tarp again, but for the last little bit i need help, that one corner needs two people! Dogs are happy, just have to buy more woodchips, since they got blown all over the place! Hope everybody else, didn't have any more damage, i heared that some roofs loose tin, had to watch out for flying tin yesterday, too, that stuff is dangerous! |

I'm still trying to think of how we can manage to survive down there (mentally) with all seven of us, the two dogs, the cat that the dogs hate, the two ferrets that the cat and dogs hate, the bird that the dogs hate, the G. Pig that the dogs, ferrets, and cat hates, plus the hamsters....Whew! And then trying to get them all downstairs...I better have a lot of notice! Especially since our stairs are unfinished and just wooden boards....Rush and Blackie refuse to go down them and last time I tried with Rush I ended up with claw marks up and down my arms. |
