Lyric, the working dog

This is just such a cute story to me. So, I just had to write.

Just now while on and off the computer, Lyric is lying near me in the den. He's the only dog in here right now. I have his food bowl in here because the four dogs are seperated while they eat. He really didn't feel much like eating...not that hungry I guess.

I looked at him and he looked bored. So, I picked up a small handful of his kibble and practiced, back up, weave through my legs, back and forth, shake, high five and our latest... Bang, bang, you're dead. He was so thrilled to go through his paces and eagerly awaited his kibble treat from my hand. He could have just as easily helped himself to the bowl right next to him, but he really wanted to earn it. He sat there looking at the bowl and then looking at me like, "Well....what's next?" LOL. Good work ethic in this dog. LOL.

LOL sounds just like OC!!! Especially as a puppy! But now when he's inside and I put his food in his bowl he just kinda looks at me like "That's IT????" so I laugh and we go do training...one kibble bit at a time LOL. They're so goofy!

Thanks Crossfire. He can be the devil himself sometimes, but at others...pretty endearing.

Oc, he DOES sound like Oc. LOL.

Carrie, LOL the only thing I don't like is that if I'm in the middle of something important I still can't resist those pleading for training eyes so I end up staying awake later than intended finishing what I was working on before LOL

Awwww! What a good boy.
Sounds like Ripley.. If I put his food in front of him without asking him to do anything, he looks at me like I'm insane. LOL. He prefers to work for his meals.
