I am glad to hear that Bonnie is donig better. I know that she will never be 100% cured but if you are like me quality of life is soooooo much more important than quantity! Give her lots of big hugs and kisses. You are in my thoughts and prayers. BTW how is your brother doing?

Thank you Sunny and Icey. Yes, she seems Ok for now. You're right....it's the quality of life that's so important. And she has had a good one and is still enjoying it too, in spite of everything.
My brother is not doing well and it's hard when he's 3000 miles away in Maine and I'm in Idaho. Gee wiz, I just hope he isn't too frightened and that he doesn't feel too awful but I think something like that is pretty overwhelming. But I appreciate all your kind thoughts, words and prayers. You're a great help and support. Truly you are. |

Carrie, I lost my aunt 7 years ago to a brain tumor. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please feel free to e-mail me if you would like to talk more about this. She had her tumor for 13 years and was paralyzed due to the tumor. My fiance and I are getting married on her birthday.
My thoughs and prayers are also with you and Bonnie. My mom has a 12 year old Choc. Lab who is the best dog! She has also been with my mom through divorce, family deaths, and many hapy times. It is amazing how they effect your life. You are so lucky to have had such a loyal, loving friend for these past 13 years. She is one lucky dog to have you! We will be thinking of you. |

Thank you My2Swissies. How very sweet of you to write. I'm sorry about your aunt. My goodness, she lived a long time with that.
Thank you for your kindness about Bonnie. She's doing pretty well actually. So, your mom has a choc. Lab too. How about that? Aren't they nice dogs? Thank you for your offer to chat. I sure appreciate it. Sometimes I get very sad and other times I'm getting along OK....sort of accepting it. But I dread if he is unduly afraid. I don't think he is. He appears quite courageous. He even has a sense of humor about it. He said that he has now retired (from a CEO position in a large company back East) and quit his community responsibilites, chamber of commerce and some other things etc. He said if he were to get well now, he'd really be screwed now that he doesn't have his job anymore. What a goof....like they wouldn't take him back. They all loved him and gave him so much when he quit...so many extras and such kindness. Thanks guys. |

Sounds like your brother is keeping his spirits up! That is just awesome! I truely believe that one will do better for longer with a positive attitude, which is seems like your brother has. He will defintly remain in my thoughts and prayer along with you. I lost my dad a little over 4 years ago and he lived far away so I worried about him all the time. So I understand how you feel. Keep us posted and take good care of yourself!

Hey Carrie,
I have an uncle who was just diagnosed with a brain tumor about 2 months ago. They say his is virus related and are having a difficult time treating it. It seems to just spread for a little bit and it will shrink a little but its remittance does not correlate with any treatments so they are at a loss. Where in Maine is your brother? I just moved to southern Maine about 5 months ago (after hurricane Ivan). It is very cold here and we just had a hurricane like blizzard blow thru. You, Bonnie and your brother will be in my thoughts. Kela |

Hi Lucy,
Oh, I'm sorry about your uncle. These things are sometimes treatable and sometimes not. So, maybe things will look better for your uncle. My brother's is inoperable and chemo only helped for a few months, then it started growing again. He can't do more chemo, so.....it sucks. I hope things will be better for your uncle. My brother lives in Cumberland Foreside...I think it's near Portland. He has lived in Camden. He's lived their since his college days at Colby College. Maine is beautiful. When I lived in N.J. where I was born, we would vacation in Maine. But I've lived in Washington most of my life and now in Idaho....just since 3.5 years ago. I love it in Idaho! Beautiful state. Anyhow, thank you very much for writing and sending your thoughts for Bonnie and my bro. I appreciate it a lot. Your uncle will be in my thoughts also. |
