Talking Caiza's new collar...anyone else have a collar fetish?

I just ordered a collar to be special made for my boy and am expecting it sometime next week. It's 2 inches wide with Celtic designs and beautiful scroll work around the edges What do you think?

Wow - that's truly beautiful! What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship! A lovely collar to accentuate the beauty of an already gorgeous dog! (My twin sister, Tempura_Tantrum on Chazhound, has been looking into ACDs, and she just LOVES your boy).

LOVE it!

I order all of mine from a great lady who does a fantastic job, I get mine in the martingale fashion.... With all of the water these guys swim in and how rough they play I am amazed at how well these collars hold up. We have had goose's for more then 6 months now and as you can see it still looks great.

Pics of my collars
Henna's

Rasta's

The one we have for Goose was specially made for me so i dont have a website pic of it....Yes, those are wine glasses.

Oh man, this is just torture! I'd love to get a beautiful collar for my kids, but so many times they just wreak havoc on the double coat!

Although actually, Tai *could* wear one - he's not a show dog, and he wears a buckle collar anyway! I think I may have to search for some beautiful eye candy for my beloved boy! This is awesome inspiration after all! So..does anyone know where I could find one that's Japanese in style?

Hey Sayuri,
I finally figured it out the other day that you are a twin to Temp LOL! I thought She was you or you were her LOL! I have been chatting with her alot about the ACD's through PM. I told her to check out the "all ACD forum" I frequent so she can learn more and there are also some great show breeders on the forum. I love your Shiba's that you guys co-own. Are you interested in sharing the ACD with your sister? Or are they to much for you LOL!

OOh! That's SO NICE!

I do have an addiction...

On another board we just went over this... I was shocked at how many I have.

So, yes... I have an addiction and sadly, only one of my dogs wears a collar all the time and it happens to be a Premier KeepSafe. So, he CAN only wear one collar (that's the only one I'll allow on ANY dog... too scary otherwise).

But, I ADORE Lupine stuff. That said both dogs have martingales from them that hold their tags for public outings, and matching leashes. Bailey's is the Aloha pattern and Buzz's is Doggy Dreams. They're fantastic and guaranteed for life!

I also have 2 rolled leather collars for obed/rally showing (we don't train with collars on for the most part).

2 agility leash/collar combo things
2 limited slips (Bailey's has PIGS on it because she snorts, I LOVE that collar... use it for agility shows now)
2 leather leashes
2 "BK" locking collars
Buzz has 3 harnesses (step in, regular for walking, and Roadie)
Bailey has 4 (x-back, step in, regular for walking, and Roadie)
1 Easy Walk
4 GLs
And there's probably more... I used to have pictures of the collars, but I think I deleted them... but now I'm gonna go look.

And of course I think they're all necessary, and I still buy more.

The plain ol' harness he wears as much as the KeepSafe. I've got him on a long line there... he's walked on a flexi or long line and I won't attach either of those to a collar, so he wears it a LOT. It's getting OLD too. Does anyone have a place they like to buy harnesses? Just because I'm me... it has to have a curved buckle too. That's just a simply "Tuff" lock harness I bought probably 5 years ago now and it's just starting to show wear and tear. It's held up well!

And a shot of his Lupine... with his most prized toy... hehe

Lol, a lot of people take a while to realize we're two different people, but I certainly can't blame them! We have the same pictures of the same dogs, and a very similar writing style!

I'm a big ACD fan but by the time she gets one, we probably won't be living together, so I likely won't be sharing the dog with her. From what I've heard, in many ways their temperaments sound very similar to Shibas, so I'm sure I could handle one, but I've had my eye on adding a sighthound to my pack eventually, especially because I'd love to lure course, so that's probably the direction I'll be going in. I certainly will enjoy the ACD vicariously though!

Sayuri, if you're interested in a martingale style one there are lots of vendors on www.greytalk.com that sell beautiful silk Asian-type prints. Some of them make custom flat collars too, I think, you'd just have to look around for someone.

I can't afford to have a collar fetish. LOL Missie ended up with a good few, but none of them are real nice, and some don't fit anymore. The one she wears with her ID is really tacky (it looked so bling online and then we got it and it looks really tacky and cheap in person!). Ollie only has one collar and one harness, and I just ordered Aysa a really fancy martingale from www.hotcoats4coolhounds.com (she's in Canada, so with the exchange rate the collar is actually cheaper than buying from an American vendor! lol). We'll post pictures when we get it--it's Asian themed.

I used to have upwards of 100 collars...I've been paring down the collection by donating to adoption groups to a more manageable 70 or so collars. All martingales, of course.

There are some phenomenal collar makers over on greytalk (someone posted the link earlier). 2hounds, aroundthehounds, majestic collars...the things these ladies do are just amazing. For leather I just love long dog leatherworks. I've loved every collar of theirs that I've seen...but haven't ordered any yet b/c I can't decide on a design!

shandoggy1 - where did you get that gorgeous collar?! Absolutly stunning!
