"Nothing is ever easy"

I have a job to train a dog!
Ok, so maybe it isn't that big of a deal, but it is to me! lol I was bummed because I couldn't do dog obedience this year in 4H as Blackie can't handle it anymore and Rose hated it. I can't get a new dog right now and the dog would have to be at least six months by May 1 anyways, which wouldn't happen if I got a puppy.
A classmate's dog just had a litter of puppies (and when I asked her three times why she didn't get her bitch spayed, she ignored me...the dog has had a litter each heat she goes into and the last puppies were given away or got hit by a car. ). The pups are Collie/Aussie mixes and my Chemistry teacher has one from a previous litter. I was thinking that I may be interested in one of the pups (decided against it because of the pups activity level and the amount of hair that they will have) so I was asking my Chem teacher about her pup. She said that she was about ready to kill her dog (not really) because she was so out of control, hyper, and how she needed to train her but she had no clue how. I offered to train her pup as long as I got to compete with her in 4H (the pup is around seven months old). She said that would be fine and it would be great for the dog and for herself, so I'm going to be training her pup as well has teaching her how to train the pup! I'm excited, needless to say. My first real training "job"! Hopefully I can convey all of the things I need to and that I don't confuse my teacher too badly! lol Wish me luck! |

Ritz that's wonderful.
Congratulations on your first training job, I'm sure you'll do great and the dog (and teacher) will benefit from it. Who knows...this may lead to other jobs as well. Word of mouth is the best advertising, after all. Cass. |
