Carbon Monoxide Poisening
OMG! I just received a phone call from a friend of mine....
Steph was married for the past 15 years to a man she never really got along well with. They recently separated after some issues between her daughter and him. Long story but going to court so I will not comment further on that. Once separated he began to threaten her. She obtained a retraining order and added a big dog to her 3 Rat Terriers. Changed the locks int he house and so on. Even after changing the locks things would disappear when she would get home from work up until she added her big dog. Then things seemed to return to normal. UNTIL last Sunday. The pipe from her wood stove some how became unhinged between midnight and 10 am when she awoke with ahead ache and totally disoriented. She let the dogs out and went to the wood stove to stoke it....she fell towards it instead. She saw the unhooked pipe and tried to hook it back up with no luck, she called 911. They got their 20 min later to her being passed out on the floor. she had to have treatments int he hyperbaric chamber and they still dont know the full effects...brain damage, heart and so on. The police tried to finger print the pipe but after Steph trying to reconnect it and the fire dept reconnecting it there was no usable prints. Not to mention her husband lived there for years so it would be likely that his finger prints would be there. SO crazy. A friend of her from high school is moving in with her for the next few weeks until she is well again. We also now have a system in palce where she is to call me every Mon, wed and Sat to check in. She is all the way out in UT. |

Please let us know how your friend pulls through There'd be nothing worse than not feeling safe in your own home. I hope they figure out what happened. |

That is terrible. It is VERY important if you have any gas appliances, gas heater or gas water heater to get a carbon monxide detector. You can get them almost anywhere (Walmart, Kmart, home improvement store). They have them that plug into a standard outlet and cost around $30. They warn you before the level becomes dangerous. We have a three level house so we have one on each level. One outside the utility room, one near the gargare door and one in our bedroom.
I hope your friend is better soon! |

That poor lady. I'd sure hate to live knowing someone was trying to kill me. That has to be just horrible. I just hope he doesn't start doing anything bad to the dogs just to get at her.

Thanks guys.
She is doing well. The dogs are all ok. Thank goodness. I told her she needs an alarm system but she rents and her land lord does not want one in the house....more reason for her to move. |

Yes they questioned him but short of him confessing there is no way they can finger him for it.

Wow, that is terrible, and I hope your friend is going to be ok! I hope at least she reported that she suspects her ex, and that they keep an eye on him at least.
