Neighbors
Well, accually, im not sure if they are our neighbors, i havent gotten a good look at them yet.
We have some neighbors that ive known my whole life, practically, and they are really nice. They own a Golden Doodle named Barney. Usually the man and Barney go on a walk during the afternoon. The first time i saw these people (not sure if its Barney and his owners or not) was when my sister was looking for something in the living room and looked out the window and saw the couple and their dog. She swore they were pointing and looking at her. I dont know if that was true, but i do know that they had a dog, so i had to go look. By the time i got outside, all i saw was their backs and the dog. Im not sure what breed the dog was, but it looked kind of like a Golden Doodle. This is mainly weird because Barney's woman owner doesnt usually go on the walks. The same night, at midnight, i had just let out the springers for a potty break before bed, and just as i closed the door, they started barking. So, i opened the door and looked out, and it was the same couple and dog walking by. The guy asked me how i was doing, i said fine, i called my dogs in, and closed and locked the door (our town has a police-puncher running around on the loose so i didnt want to take a chance). First of all, who walks their dog at midnight?! Second of all, at midnight, who just yells out, "How are you doing?" Well, tonight, at about 7, while i was watching tv, the springers exploded with barking. I ran over and looked out the door. The dog that i thought was Barney was standing outside our gate, in my training area. I tried to call the dog over and tell A.j. to shut up at the same time, but the dog ran. If it was Barney, he has gained at least 20 pounds in one month, cause this dog was fat. Plus, Barney knows me. Hes stubborn, so he never comes to me, but he doesnt run, either. Anyway, i just had to tell someone. My mom and dad are gone to some art show or something, my sister is at work, and my brother is in his room, so i didnt have any family to tell this to. All of this started just yesterday. Barney usually doesnt run around town at night, and his owners usually dont walk him at night. Maybe they are vampires or something.. Barney's owners are usually away on trips, because they are really rich, so i dont know if they are here or not.I will probably ask my dad about it when he gets back. Since he is a pretty big person in our town, with his artwork, he knows everyone. He would know if Barney's owners are on a trip or not. You can be sure that im happy ESS are good watchdogs. I would suffer so bad if my pups were stolen due to me not watching them when they went outside. I might get a lock for our gate, anyway. I dont know. It just creeps me out when people do this kind of thing. Im going to keep my camera with me as much as possible so if the dog comes back, i can snap a picture and see if its Barney, its too dark here to see if it is him or not. (P.S. GP needs to get a "Freaked out" smiley for the "Post Icons" part. ) |

Maybe it's just another couple that have a dog that looks very similar to Barney.. or maybe they are house sitting while his owners are away. If their dog doesn't cope too well around other dogs, that might be the reason they're walking him so late, so as to avoid running into one. Or, they might have been out all day/night and come back late but decided their dog still needed to be walked before they went to bed. Just a few ideas.

Yeah, the last one is a possibility (spelling?). I know Barney is good with all dogs and people. Since his owners are rich, they got some expensive trainer to come to their house and train. Plus, they are very careful about that now. They had a GR before Barney that ended up getting aggressive from lack of socialization.
It still creeps me out though. Im probably just paranoid now, because someone came to our house a few months ago and accually admitted to wanting to steal A.j., but she said that she lives too close and would get caught. She wanted to take A.j. on her morning walks with her, i said yes, A.j. and i would both come, then the next day she never showed up. I dont think she wanted me to go along. |

Sounds freaky, but just as swift said.. there could be a reason for it all.
The guy that lives behind us is a bit "odd" to me. I'm in the garage, doing laundry, when I hear Kelso barking like crazy. This isn't his "I'm playing with Ike and being obnoxious" bark. This was that serious bark. I look out, and I see a man with a flashlight around our fence. I open the door, and notice it's our neighbor from behind. He was looking between our fences, so I told Kelso "It's alright, Kelso". The guy says "He's fine, I'm just looking for my keys" .... Um, okay. They are building an addition onto their house, and they were on the roof a majority of that day. So, being friendly I said "Oh, what do they look like?" He said they had a red thing on them, and then says "I hope they didn't fall in your yard." I told him I didn't think so. Meanwhile, Kelso is standing right in front of me, glaring at this man and growling. I go back inside, and I peak out about 2 minutes after. He's STILL out there, and now he's pointing his flash light in my yard. He goes away shortly after. But it baffles me. How on EARTH would his keys be in MY yard, when there's a good 10-15 foot distance from the end of the addition to our fence? Unless someone threw them, but other than that. It was too weird. I always keep an eye on them while they're out back working on the roof. I just don't trust him. Lugar has spotted him up there a few times, and he's made it known that's his yard, don't come close if you're not invited. Some people are just very odd, and sometimes a bit too nosey that it's obnoxious and sad. LOL |

Wow, that must have been creepy. lol
![]() The main reason im so creeped-out about everyone in my town is because we live in a small town and at least half the people here do drugs and at least 3/4 of the people here are creeps (people who will walk/bike/drive by really slowly and just stare at you). My sister is almost 17 and my mom still doesnt like her to walk to work or anything. She lets me take the dogs on walks, but she knows that Sophie wouldnt let anyone do anything to me. Thank goodness for dogs! We have wanted to move for a while, but my mom and sister are to "attached" to our house and we dont have enough money yet. |

Ok, i talked to my dad about it. He knows for a fact that Barney and his owners would not be out at night. He thinks someone moved in down the street with a dog kind of like Barney because he saw them too and almost thought they were Barney and his owners.
But, i didnt see them today. Accually, im a little less freaked out now. They are probably (hopefully) just some new neighbors that want to get to know some people (like saying "How are you?" at midnight). Its kind of exciting though, maybe they need their dog trained or maybe they are interested in Agility. I dont know, though.OH, and while talking about Barney, there is a small chance that i might get to train him, which would be awesome! I have been dying to feel Barney's soft-looking curls, but he never comes to me. Its just like a 1/100 chance though, because Barney already has a trainer, but my training area is almost right in front of Barney's owner's house, so maybe they will see me training and give me a try. ![]() |
