so far Trixie is only afraid of the vaccuum and the racecar...she freaks out HEAVY when jeremy starts the racecar, even if she's inside. its pretty funny, but I am trying to help her get over the racecar thing because I'd love to take her into the pits at the race track someday. Any suggestions??

Brandy has been known to jump when I fold over the top of her bag of dog food. I guess she doesn't like the rustling sound. She used to bark at the vacuum and lawn mower, but has thankfully grown out of that. She just now avoids them like the plague.

Blackie is my fearless dog. I don't think he has ever been afraid of anything, in all of the time I've known him. A bit nervous, yes, but afraid, no.

Rose on the other hand....she's scared of people, dogs, loud noises, thunder, big trucks, buses, weird places....anything out of the ordinary really. But those are "normal" fears; not really anything big. Ha, I just remembered this. The weirdest thing Rose is afraid of it low flying hawks and vultures. There was a Vulture sitting on a telephone line by the road we were walking on and Rose hunkered down real low and started snarling and barking at the bird. Blackie freaked out and was looking around like, "OMG! What's wrong?!!?!" lol If there is a hawk flying low over our field Rose will take off and chase it while barking. She hates them.

When we had Sadie, on the other hand....lol Talk about weird fears. She was TERRIFIED of lighters, the sound of balloons being blown up, and the sound noise makers make. The first time she saw our lawnmower in our yard she barked and tried to attack it. Then when she got closer, she tried to run away...she was on leash, so I just sat on the lawnmower and let her sniff it....even after that, she was still skittish around it. LOL Silly dog.

Hey, we race too - bikes tho. Dutch used to be afraid of the loud cars at the race track (dragstrip) but what we used to do was let her sit in the cab of the truck where it wasn't so loud untill she got used to it. She's not afraid at all now.

As to silly fears - I could write a book for Zuki but the funniest was a pigeon was sitting on our roof next to the sky window while Zuki was laying on the couch underneath. The bird hopped over the window and Zuki freaked out! Now whenever he comes in there he skulks under the window, ducking and looking up suspiciously to make sure nothings up there.
Then last week we were invited to a childs birthday party and my son got to bring home a big elmo baloon. Its in the dining room and Zuki won't go in there now. So I guess his biggest fears are strange objects from above.

Spirit thinks car exhaust is evil and will not go anywhere near it, or steam from the dryer vent.

It wasn't MY dog, but a dog I used to walk. Cody was a Rottie/Shep/something mix. I was walking him one day when suddenly he stopped in his tracks and started BARKING with his fur all raised up and staring at something! I looked over to see what it was. There was a figure of a donkey (about 16" tall, ceramic or something) on someone's front lawn and that was what he was going nuts over!

Abby once growled at a plastic bag on one of our walks! She had a terrified look in her eye and would go ANYWHERE near it!

Jake's afraid of balloons that are attached to Garage Sale signs, as I found out one day.
