Since we're on cool wildlife stories, I have a nifty one...

Last summer I was at my friend's house. We were sitting out on the back deck, and I came in to go pee and I heard something rustling around on the front porch. So I got my friend, he grabbed his gun and slowly opened the door. It was a little bear cub with no mommy! He was probably only like 20-25 pounds, so he didn't shoot it. He saw it once more a few nights later, but never saw any sign of the mom. He's an avid hunter, so he was hoping this huge momma bear would come around. He's got pictures of it somewhere, I should see if he can dig them up. It was sooo cute!!

Trainingtrixie...wow that would have been cool to see. Bears are stunning creatures and the cubs are adorable.

But...

So he could kill the mum and, in turn, leave the baby to die? Sorry that's sick and twisted. No offense, but your friend sounds like an idiot.

Cass.

Eh. That's why I don't like hunting...if you want to do it for food, sure, why not, but I don't like it for sport and JUST for trophies...

Last year towards the end of all we had a Cyote come into our yard. I felt so sorry for it; it was so thin it was eating the apples that had fallen off of our apple trees and it even braved the barking of our two big dogs extreamly close to it. I'm just glad the Cyotes around here are chickens when it comes to people; you take one step outside and if they see you they are GONE.

Me, too. I hate when people hunt just for the trophies. We dont hunt anything that we wouldnt eat. My dad hunts deer and birds, mostly. I dont think hes ever hunted bears or mountian lions. I go on the deer hunting trips sometime, but i dont hunt them yet, i just hunt birds with A.j.

Aw, poor Coyote. The Coyotes around here are chubby, lots of stray cats around here because of idiots dumping their unfixed cats on the road so they all reproduced and know there are hundreds of them. Its gross to say this, but the Coyotes do love to eat the cats. There are a lot of deer around here too, so if one dies from old age or something, the Coyotes will eat that. Oh, and there are LOTS of rabbits here! Its hard to train dogs in hunting because they keep chasing the rabbits instead, but, there are plenty of birds, too. As you can probably tell, animals are well-populated around here. The Coyotes around here are afraid of humans, too. They will get close enough so you can see them, but if you make a quick movement of make a noise, it disappears. The only way the Coyotes around here suffer is during summer. They will just stand there, not afriad of cars or other dogs, just panting their brains out. We are in middle of a sagebrush desert, so it gets really hot here.
