I think it was included in previous versions of windows, but not in xp for some reason. I'm not sure to be honest.

Maybe that exlpains why the chat won't work for mine. I'll have to re read this thread later when I'm on my computer to download it. Got 28.8k on mine, but I have nothing else to do so LOL

Um, I just downloaded the Java thingy but I still can't get the chat room to work............

Every time I go in there I can see people but no one is saying anything new...do I have to say hi before I start seeing people talking?

Ritz, maybe you're security settings are too high. Make sure you set your browser to enable Java. GlobalPaw is in the process of moving to a new server, so that might have something to do with it today. I haven't tried to go in there.
Sthrnbelle, you can see people's names when you enter. You dont' have to say "hi" first.

When you enter the chat room it says welcome and you will see your own name appear on the right hand side of the screen. If you see other names appear under your own then people are in the chat room. If your name is the only one in that little box then you are all alone! LOL
You can see a little bit of what people were chatting about in the main screen but that doesn't mean anyone is in there now. Does that make sense? LOL

Everytime I go in there it's empty. I expect this is mainly due to the time difference. Im on GMT+1, Can we make timings when everyone can meet, perhaps one in the morning one at miday and one in the evening, then this gives a chance for people from other parts of the world to join in? After all this is GLOBAL Paw

Will the new chat page include voice chat?

The Chat Room is open 24 hours. Currently, there are no scheduled chats other than those members schedule themselves. I think it might be fun to host a "guest speaker" someday.

Actually, there is a scheduled chat every saturday evening.
