Take Responsibility

We have a limit here as well. Two, however if you pay an additional $100 to the city you can get a fanciers license and that entitles you to up to six. It also entitles the city to do an inspection on your home anytime they wish, this is a much better alternative to me then parting with any of my dogs. I wonder if anything like that is available in WI? So sad that we as a people have become so policed that only the criminals are allowed any freedoms. Ok maybe not any freedoms but you get the gist.

Sad. Most of the areas surrounding where I live only allow 2-3 dogs. Seven would never be allowed...

That story is absolutely devastating.
We too are only allowed 2 dogs (some properties like mine only 1) in my council area unless you get a special permit which requires a written application and agreement from all your neighbours to have extra dog(s). |

This story just disgusts me - this woman is being punished for moving heaven and earth to take care of her sick family member, and for being such an epitome of responsible dog ownership, that no one even KNEW she owned dogs. When told she needed to apply for a liscence, she did - and was turned down. Why? It's ridiculous. My home city has been battling ridiculous legislation as well. While it isn't quite as bad as Lousville's, it's still nothing to sneeze at. This is something that I won't allow to go down without a fight. |

You summed it up Sayuri... despite her jumping through every hoop they have placed in front of her she is still being forced to give up her dog. How on earth can that be correct?? Unless the removal of animal ownership and domestic pets is really at the bottom of the movement... which, if you ask the HSUS, that is their goal, and they are quickly accomplishing it.

As long the animals are well cared for there is no reason to limit the number of dogs owned by someone.
![]() Quite different from the small town I live. There is not even any leash laws in my town. |
