Today a friend rang up and asked me if I could help find homes for 5 dogs.. Purebred golden retrievers.. 2 adults ( breeding pair) and 3 pups 16 weeks old.
The people ( I use the term loosely)did a midnight flit so they wouldnt have to pay rent and just left the dogs and pups behind locked up in the empty house.
Heaven knows for how long. There were 8 puppies altogether. If the remainder arnt homed very soon then they are to be euthenased

These people should be had up on charges and stuck in jail with no food,, see how they like it

Oh my gosh, that's horrible!

It's kind of hard... in the hands of the 'owners' these dogs wouldn't thrive very well, but it's better than leaving them completely on their own! I hope they will all be able to find wonderful homes where they are well looked after.

Your place would be pretty full at the moment wouldn't it Linnie with the other pups - are you going to be able to help them out? I don't know which part of Australia you're from but if I can help out in any way please let me know (I'm in SA).

That is so sad. I hope the puppies and their parents find loving homes soon.. I can't stand people who do this and think it's ok. Just a few weeks ago some one locked 3 cats in a trailer and left them to die.. It just bothers me so much !!

How sad!! Is there a Golden Rescue organization in Australia? If there is, I would contact them right away, and they should take responsibility for them.

Those poor puppies...I still can't get over how people think animals are disposable like that.

Only one puppy left to find a home for. My girlfriends daughter took 2. She cant really afford to have them but I know she will look after them she has owned dogs since she was little

I am worried about the parent dogs

I will get onto rescue site and see what I can do. Will keep you updated
