Smile Do your dogs wear jackets or coats?

I just bought Dante a vest on eBay b/c we are going to visit family up north (MA/NH) and Dante & Chloe, being southern their whole lives are going to be in shock from all the snow and how cold it is. Chloe has a sweater, Dante does too, but it doesn't fit him well. Anyway, I just bought him this: Vest

Duke does. Just today he walked up in front of me, and stood there chattering his teeth. It's not even that cold, he's just a spoiled rotten brat! (Who knows how to manipulate his mommy. )

Wow, what a cute coat!!

Nope, not yet. Tippy and May have pretty good coats, which get them through going outside for a few minutes to do their thing, but Colby, being a Canaan Dog/Jack Russell Terrier mix is short-haired and doesn't have much fur on her belly. Surprisingly, she is a snow nut! Whenever we have a lot of snow she sits at the door and waits to go out. I am thinking of getting her a sweater though, for walks, and Tippy may need some booties....

LOL, I was thinking of booties, but my parents would never let me hear the end of that one!

If it's chilly, I put one of Winston's sweaters on. Bentley as well. Oscar gets warm easily so he just wears bandanas.

Bailey has a jacket that she wears if it is really cold. She is pretty good about going out in the cold unless there is snow. Lucy is a big weeny for cold weather so I put her in my jacket and zip her in to keep her warm. I haven't been able to find a coat or sweater small enough to fit her and she would just grow out of it anyway. Both of my dogs wear a reflective vest at night with strobes on them so they can be seen by cars. My tiny black dogs disappear instantly at night and I can't even see them at the end of the leash.

Yes Duncan has a jumper and a coat, we keep him fairly closely clipped so he wears his coat when it's cold. Have to say he is a right little show off and seems to love it ! Mollie doesn't seem to need one but if she does as she gets older we will get her one too.

Oh yes, my baby has a lovely wool lined coat and a knitted jumper to keep him warm in winter. He also likes to wear any quilt or blanket that people happen to be hiding under, does that count? LOL

Cass.

OC's pretty at home in the snow and doesn't really need one...actually he'd probably overheat in one! LOL

My Dobe and Chihuahuas have coats if needed. They do get cold because of such short, close hair. But only when it's really cold and we're on a walk do they need them. They don't use them just to go out to potty, even when it was 20 below yesterday and 12 below this morning. They just hurry it up, go and come right back in.

Rose wears a coat sometime when it is really cold out. (aka, 15-10F or under.) I can't get Blackie to wear one (he takes it off) but he doesn't really need one because he has a really thick coat already. I just feel reall sorry for Rose because she has a shorter coat and is more of a weenie when it comes to cold weather! lol

Ripley needs one on cold mornings. Dakota? HA! Not only would he hide in shame if I put one on him, but he'd probably overheat and die.. He pants in 40 degree weather, I think -20 would be comfortable to him. lol.
