Even the most nervous dog i ever owned would not bite if something she was afraid of happened to crop up in every day life.
I think you put this in the wrong thread......lol

Ok, it is a little bit different with me since both of our dogs are outside dogs, so I'll use the cat as an example. lol When I was littler, I would take a poptart and let Rush lick/eat some of it, and then I'd eat it. I didn't know any better, and now I probably wouldn't be doing that. lol
But Rush is allowed at the kitchen table on one of the chairs while we are eating. lol He'll come and sit on one of the chairs (or underneath the chairs, lol) and just look at us while we are eating. (He occasionally gets table scraps too.....like chicken, pork, fish.....lol)

When we eat outside, the dogs aren't allowed to be up right next to the table, just because they try to eat our food. They can sit and laydown next to us to their hearts content, but I don't like a dog that is always nudging your are trying to get food. (They have gotten tons better with that though.)
My mom thinks I'm crazy because I'll poor grape Kool-aide into cups during the summer, and take it out to the dogs to drink. lol They LOVE Koolaide, lemonaide, and bannana popsicles. lol Oh, and homemade ice cream. lol I let them have some out of my bowel once. lol My mom just about freaked out when I did that.....lol

I have to laugh with all of these stories.

Our next-door neighbors have two little girls, the youngest is 3 and Jillian just adores this little girl. Well, she was eating a lollipop - one lick for her, one for dog, one for her, one for dog. It was picture perfect - classic Norman Rockwell. Anyway, the best part was when the little girl's Nanna walked in to that - she was mortified seeing this giant dog sharing a lollipop with her little angel . The poor little girl fought with Nanna so Jillian could keep having licks of her lollipop!! After all, they share lollipops all the time!!

Anyway, at my house we have no problems whatsoever about sharing with our dog. I do share icecream, same spoon, yogurt, etc. So does my daughter and husband. Wet dog kisses? Wouldn't feel right going through the day without them. Is she allowed in the kitchen - yes - she has clean-up duty but is not allowed to beg. She must lay down while we are eating. Does she share our bed? Yup. As a matter of fact, we're getting a king bed this weekend so she can fit - even though she does have her own Simmons Beauty rest bed. Fortunately, I have a wonderful dog that knows who's boss. She also very well knows the meaning of "no" and "not for you".

I cut up half of the meat that I eat at Dinner Time and give half of it to my Chico Baby. He loves it, and I do it, because I love him.

I love my dogs but I don't let them lick me cause I brake out from it, and well I know what they were chowing down on. I do not allow them in the dinning room when Iam eating and they no not to stare cause it bugs me, mind you the minute I leave the table they are right there. When Iam cooking they are always under my feet cause Iam always purposly dropping stuff for them, or if Iam doing a chicken/turkey ect I always thro a lil for them. I do let them lick out of my plate when I am done, or I just dump it on the kitchen floor when all 5 come running. Tiva use to sleep in my bed but now since we have moved to a 2 storey I do not allow her upstairs at all. I don't allow them on my furniture cause I would like to get new furniture and I don't want dog hair on it, all we have is a love seat and once 4 boston's get up there there isn't any room and then they squable like kids. Every chance they get they are on it but once they see us coming they jump off. They do lay on the stool and put their heads on the couch and do seem content with that and I still cuddle them that way.

I remember when I was lil I have pics of my dog pinning me down and giving me kisses and I would just laugh and laugh, I always shared everything with them. A lick off a cone then me lol Germs whats that when your little eh
