vacuum
so I know this could go in behavior but its a great story...
Kino HATES the vacuum cleaner...usually my fiance's mother vacuums, she locks Kino in his room...today I found out why.... I got the vacuum cleaner out he came RUNNING full speed to me barking like crazy!!! So I plug it in and start vacuuming....the whole time dodging his teeth...hes litterally attacking the vacuum!! the whole time barking and biting...he was freaking out....I know I probably should have done something about it but it was too funny. I was laughing so hard I had to go to the bathroom when I was done. Its so funny, hell bite it then pick it up...run around, then come back and bark at it...then bite it again.... unfortunatly these arnt playfull barkes or bites, he gets agressive with the vacuum.... Runt does it too, but she weighs 15 pounds so she cant do too much damage... |

LOL!
I found that Rocky (boxer pup) likes to "fend off" the "evil" vacuum, but he won't touch the vacuum, just barks at it. My 3 HATE the vacuum, and are scared to death of it. Especially Sarge for some reason. Denali will sometimes play with the hose part. |

Bailey doesn't do anything except jump up on the couch. She will sleep through it. Lucy doesn't mind the big vacuum but for some reason hates the shark sweeper vacuum. I use the shark every day to pick up pine needles and litter and Lucy will bark and run back and forth infront of it. It's really quiet and small so I don't know why this one scares her but the big vacuum is ok.

Maybe there is a noise to that one that she hears and you don't? Kinda like when they bark at the "evil air spirits" LOL

Ripley DESPISES the vaccuum. Dakota couldn't care less, but Ripley.. Whoo.
It got to the point in Idaho where if I would even lay a hand on the doorknob to the closet where we kept the vaccuum, he'd scream like a banshee at me until the door was all the way open. When it would be opened all the way, he'd start growling and curling his lip up at the vaccuum.. I don't know why he hates it so much, but I have a feeling it's nothing I'll ever be able to change. LOL. |

My girls don't like the vacuum. Colby and Tippy run away from it, jumping over it if they have to, staring at it most of the time to make sure it isn't going to suck up their paws. May isn't too fond of it either, but we were able to vacuum her (yep, she's a shedder) in the summer of '03. She'll usually leave if it comes too close though.

To say that Sunny hates the vac is a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT! She will literarly attack the thing and then run away and come back for more. Usually I lock her in a room but sometimes I just deal with it. The interesting thing is she doesn't mind the steam cleaner. She could care less about it.

Geez! No wonder your almost mother in law locks him in the bedroom. How freaky! I can just imagine all this going on and you laughing. LOL.
Chulita is the only dog I have who is leery of the vacuum. She goes to one couch and when I come near she goes to the other one. Lyric just walks right past it if he's going to another room or whatever like it's just a vacuum. LOL. I can vacuum all around Bonnie when she's lying down....right up to within an inch of her, as long as I don't bump her, she continues resting. LOL. I come back to that spot later when she's moved...don't want to disturb the senior citizen. |

Heres a story for you Carrie, be careful when you vacuum around Bonnie. One time I was vacuuming and my younger sister wouldn't move so I was like "I"m going to vacuum you up!" and went really close all around her, nothing happened until I got up to her hair, and then the vacuum eat it all the way to her scalp So just be careful ^_^

A-h-h-h-h!!! That's a terrible story. Your poor sister. Has she forgiven you yet? Thanks for the warning. I think that Bonnie's hair is so close and short, being a Lab, that that wouldn't happen. My vacuum's good, but not that strong. I only go within an inch or two because I don't want to make her startle, as it would if I bump her. Then she gets up too fast and she's too old. If I do need to make her move, I just get her to move by calling her over to another spot. LOL. It's just so weird how that thing or sweeping doesn't worry her. In fact, sometimes I take the hose of the vacuum and get the excess hair off of her. I scratch her wigglebutt with the end of the hose and she loves it. LOL. (I use to vacuum the horse I had with an old Elecrolux, not the Arabs that I had recently, but one when I was a kid. He was bomb proof. LOL) |
