What do you dislike and like most about being a dog owner?

Dislike
1. Cleaning up smelly poopoo, especially if it hasn't been cleaned for a little while because then there's practically a whole field of it almost and it takes me about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours . And once I'm finished I've still got a sore back and neck.
2. Training when the dog is being a brat. Bang bang!!!

Like
1. Petting my fuzzballs.
2. Spoiling them with treats and toys and cuddling my "little" teddy bears.
3. Walking them. You've got to think of walking your dog(s) and something that is in your every day schedule. Whether it be a long walk or a short walk, it's important!
4. Feeding them. There's nothing like watching them stare as I prepare their meals.
5. Playing with them. We love to play goofy games, and I try to be the best dog a human can be.

Dislike:
Having to manage Ripley's aggression issues and Dakota's extreme overexuberance
Keeping the boys separated
Letting them out when it's pouring outside, just to have them dig in the mud and have to give them a bath
HOUSE TRAINING (particularly with Ripley)

Like:
Everything else.

Dislike:
Walking them in the wind/cold/snow/rain/every other icky weather that you can imagine. (I like walking them in the nice weather. Just not the icky weather.)
Blackie's dog aggression.
Keeping them from rolling on icky, gross, dead mice with half of its insides hanging out, and then when they secede(sp?) in that, smelling them while batheing them.
The dogs barking nonstop at 2:00 in the morning and not stopping until around 4:00am. (That is really annoying.......)

Like:
Pretty much everything else.

(He-he! I don't have to clean up poop because our dogs are trianed to go in the feild behind our house! No poop in the yard to worry about!! lol )

Dislikes: Cleaning kennels ugh! lol Poop scooping and most of all losing my babies when they go on to the Rainbow Bridge.

Like: Everything else including when pups open their eyes to see the world for the first time, when I'm sitting down, not paying attention and one of the bullies just walks up and puts their chin on my knee and just looks at me with those loving eyes.

Dislike: trying to travel with them or find a dog sitter, which is next to impossible. So that would be my first problem. I'd like to be able to go to Seattle and visit with my kids more often, but it's very difficult with 4 dogs. That's the downside to having multiple dogs. It would be much easier with just one.

Cleaning poop I guess isn't a whole barrel of laughs, but having had horses, I got use to a lot of work around animals so it isn't all that bad I guess.

And the amount of dog hair on my floor....mostly from Bonnie. It's kind of an inconvenience, but again...not that big of a deal to clean up my small house.

Like: Their wonderful, undying loyalty and companionship, their affection and willingness to learn. (most of the time)

Their sense of fun and humor and physically, what they can do....their way of moving and atheletisism.

I love our hikes in the woods, beach, golf course...I love seeing them be free to run and leap and explore. They get such a thrill out of it. It gives me such pleasure to see them enjoying their lives. Their life spans are so short that I want to help make every day fun and happy for them. I like the walks for me too, the woods....the nature and being one with it...nature, including my dogs. It's a similar feeling I had when riding my horse out on trails....all alone...just my horse and I and whatever else was out there. It makes you notice things more, little things and those little things are really the big things.

Their softness of their fur and their kisses...(up to a point) LOL.

The way they look at me with those eyes that are clear pools to the soul and how their little tails tell so much. (yes, even the docked one. It's really very expressive)LOL.

The way they like to cuddle up next to me on the couch and they can't seem to get close enough...keep re-adjusting themselves and press just a little closer. LOL.

Oh, what I like....the list is too long. LOL.

Dislike:
Housetraining and barking (for no apparent reason), walking/taking outside in bad weather, worrying about her while we're gone. Trips to the vet for any reason. And I'm not a big fan of grooming either (that's why I have a Yorkie, genius! *sticks tongue out at self* )

Love:
Doggie kisses, wiggles and love bites. Waking up to see Missie sleeping in her chair, then look up at me with the greatest, cutest bed head you've ever seen. And her forgiveness. I do so many things wrong, and I'm never as good of a dog mom as I want to be, but she just loves me anyway, and wakes up every day with excitement. And I love (most) walks, and seeing her happily sniffing everything. Taking pictures of her all the time, with how cooperative she is. What's not to love besides what I said above? Hehe.

Dislikes:
When Lucky has the Big D, it gets all over him and I end up hosing him down and we both don't feel too grand when the Big D occurs.
Picking up the poo by hand. With a scooper, it's alright.
Likes:
That feeling when my new dog "learns" a trick or a command. That feeling I get when I know my baby opened up herself for *me* to see. Just me . That warm fuzzy feeling when Giselle starts to show her little quirks and I realize that my baby is blossoming for ME. I love how my bulky Peke runs after me even though he's dead tired just because I'm Mommy.

I love it when I can look at a furry sleeping face and my heart gushes with love, like water spilling over a bucket. I love the warm feeling in my heart when I realize I have two furry pals who love me with just the same intensity and devotion.

Dislike: Accidents in the house (I don't have to clean up the backyard because Jesse usually does it in the vacant lot next door... but even there, you don't notice it. LOL He's a tiny dog. ), Vet visits, clipping doggy toenails (I once clipped a birds claw and made it bleed, althought the bird didn't seem to care, I freaked out and I'm terrified of it now - clipping, not the bird ).
Walking my tiny dog around a neighbourhood of irresponsible people who allow their huge dogs to wander.
Having my Jess decide, half way on a walk, that he wants to go home. He then either sits and stays, so I have to pick him up, or turns around and tries to pull me back the way we've come.

Like: Having a ball of fur snuggle up to me at night on the lounge (although My baby prefers my father so I rarely get this with my current doggie), training, feeding, grooming and just about anything else.

Cass.

I hate when they are sick and need vet care. I worry about them so much.

I love training them and seeing how excited they get when the leash and treat bag come out. I fill with pride at how well behaved they are. I love to play with them and take them for walks. My favorite is when they both curl up on my chest and it is a competion on who can get higher up until they are both smothering me. I love everything.

Hmmm Dislikes. I really can't think of a serious dislike. I guess scooping poop, but it's not a huge deal. It's sorta automatic - I normally clean up what little there is, twice a day, every day, so it's a matter of a minute or two. I do get frustrated ~ I wish I could take them along to more places with me. I wish this town was more dog friendly. And the short lifespans... well not short short, pugs live to be in their mid teens pretty easily, but it's still TOO SHORT in my books.

Likes:

~Something to come home to.
~Extra incentive to go for a long healthy walk or a "frolic" at the city park.
~I like that feeling of taking care of something.. nurturing something. Pugs are so much like little furry 4 year old humans LOL.
~I find it incredibly soothing to be able to curl up, watch some tv with my three boys all snuggled up against me. For me, that is just THE BEST. LOL
~I like the fact that they are like little court jesters. They know exactly how to make me laugh, and do it often.

I don't like:
that all my dogs like to eat each others poop...that's nasty
when the barking wakes me up on mornings when I'd like to sleep in
when they don't come when they're called, especially Piper
when they won't settle if we have company

I do like:
the company
the laughs
the love
