Singing to your dogs

Just wondering if any of you are as weird as me!

We sing to the dogs, adding their name instead of a word. Hoofa's name is much easier and he has lots of songs, like...

"His name was Hoofa, he was a show dog, with yellow ribbons in his hair..."

"And we all love Hoofa, all over this land..." some song from the Clover ad

OMG there's one we always sing and I can't remember it for the life of me!

Cleo's are..

"Her name is Cleo and she dances on the sand..."

"Cleo, Cleeeo...I wanna Cleo and I want one now!" -the old Trio ad

lol We do that here too! One of my favorites is for Tillie when she refuses to come in we sing Tillie Willie won't go home. lol

Nope, I don't sing to my dogs.. If I did, they'd probably run away from me. I absolutely cannot sing.

The boys do seem to like it when i turn the stereo on, though.

Yup I do. For Bentley I sing "Look at that Puuuugggly in the window..... (pause), the one with the cuuuuuuuurly tail ... (pause) Oh Loooook at that Pugggggly in the window! (Pause) I wonder if he's still for sale? I can WHISPER this song as low as I can get my voice to go and Bentley will still Howl along with me LOL He loves it. Last night we were in bed and it was dark, he was curled up in the crook of my arms.. I started whispering it, he stretched out on his side, laid there and howled LOL Which of course got the others going.

Another thing I do that has him come running to me isn't a song but its a theme or a dramatic statement LOL.. I say "He's BIG...... he's BAD.... and he's BLACK.... it's BENTLEY!!!!!!!!" and make a sound like a roaring crowd. He LOVES that. He get's so excited.

With Oscar I sing to him "Oooooooh I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weeeeeiinnnner, that's who I'd really like to beeeeee, cuz if I was an Oscar Meyer Weeeeeeeiner, everyone would be in love with me!" Then I end it with that Betty Boop thing.. boop boop she-doop boop! Oscar gets so happy, his tail wags so fast and I think he smiles. LOL

Poor Winston doesn't have a song yet. LOL

I sing all the time, just about 90% of my waking hours, in everything I do, on my walks, vacuuming, while I'm online. LOL. My older dogs tune me out and Lyric is afraid of me. LOL. Not really... he's use to it. They especially like things like Give me a kiss to build a dream on, let my imagination da da de da de da.... and Mustang Sally. LOL.

My favorite that Sheiba does is "Raaahhhh raaahhhh!" LOL

Well I don't exactly sing TO OC but when I do sing he likes to join in with his woooo wooooooo Actually OC sings along to many things, x-mas cards (y'know the ones that u open up and they play a tune), some instruments, and my all time fav CELLPHONE SONGS!!!! I'll be in a store with him and my cell phone will go off and he'll just sit there howling away to the tune, it's sooooo funny! People around m get a good kick out of it.

Of course I sing to Ilsa - her registered name is a Beatles song, after all! I've sung "In My Life" to her almost every day sinc eshe was a puppy. I've found that it really calms her down... and the lyrics fit perfectly!

Carrie, it's a pretty small town but there are 4 stores and 2 banks (That i knwo of) that let him in and I take full advantage of it LOL All of them always have treats waiting for him too hehe Not many people bring their dogs everywhere like me....

I sing to Bailey and Lucy all the time. We made up a song for Bailey the day we brought her home. "She's my little Bailey, she's my poop-dog, She's my little Bailey.....poop-poop-dog!!!!!" We also sing Bailey was a show girl..LOL
Lucy's name is Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds so she gets Beatles songs all the time too. My husband loves to make up songs and he wants to sing them on the phone to her when he calls me at night. Geeze! He always has to say good night to the doggies and kitties when he is out of town.
