Good apartment dogs

After next year I am going off to college, but will be unable to take my dogs with me (both are to large for apartments and are far to hyper). And I would really hate not having a dog. So any small dogs (read around 30 pounds or less suggestions would be golden)

He he I say get a shelties! All three of mine are less than 25 lbs. But they are hyper if they don't get exercised. so I don't really know if they would be good for an apertment. hmm maybe a larger dog would work.. or a greyhound..

You can use this link to fill in all the stuff you'd like to have in a dog. It's a neat tool.

Actually some large dogs are great for apartments just as some little dogs, either way both need excersize.....

Are you going to have time with school work and a dog? I just mean with all the time you need to put into studying ect, thats all.

are you even going to be able to live in an apt?...most schools have a required one year on campus in dorms....all of which do NOT allow dogs in dorms...

ive been enrolled in three different 4 year colleges, and one 2 year, but all three 4 years had that rule....so have ALL my friends colleges... you might want to figure that out before you fall in love with a dog, or a certan breed and be let down.

Good point. I didn't even think of that. Well, unless you live in the same town as your school or 60 miles or less. I think that's the rule most everywhere. Most public schools don't require you to live in the dorms if you can prove your a commuter.

Im pretty sure its not even a town/distance thing, but if your living with a legal guardian...to be a communter you MUST be living at home...or be a transfer....like me.

Actully I checked, I am not required to live on campus at all, at least thats what everything I've read implied I will double check with admissions though. I am going to go to a private school in tennese (MaryVille). I thought of greyhounds and mini greyhounds but I would feel bad not having a yard for the speedster to unleash in. I'll make time for the dog keeps you from stressing as much
