I've been a busy girl
Yesterday afternoon and all day today I Brandi and I were outside power washing my font decks and sidewalks. I bought a new power washer two weeks ago and couldn't wait to try it out. There is a critter called a deck washer that you can attach to a power washer that will wash the width of two 1x6 boards at one time. Brandi had to show me where I needed to go. I thought I would have to be really careful around Brandi because that thing is so powerful I didn't want to hurt her. But she was smarter than I gave her credit for. She went over and lay on the grass basking in the sunshine and watched me work. It didn't take very long to get them done at all and Brandi stayed in the yard the whole time. I did have to call her back once but that was when we first went out. Otherwise she stayed like a good girl. Now that the decks are clean I need to seal them so I have all day tomorrow and Sunday to do that. Brandi can't help with that tho I won't let her on the decks for 72 hours after they have been sealed because the sealer is petroleum based I just want to be sure it's ok for her to walk on. Then I can go to the back of the house and do Brandi's deck, mom's deck and the rest of the sidewalks in the back. They sure get grubby with mildew and tree dirt over the winter and I like them nice and white and clean. Of course it doesn't hurt that I'm still a kid at heart and love to play in the water........

Is that an ocean in the background? I love water! I don't get to swim, or see the ocean as often as I like.

No it's not the ocean. It's an inland lake of about 800 acres in Michigan. We've lived here on the lake for about 17 years now. The lake loses it's mystique after a while though. If you don't get to see it every day it's exciting and fun, but if you live on the lake, it's always there and it's not as much fun anymore........

What a lovely view!
Don't take that view for granted... you could have yucky views of houses all around, powerlines, rooftops and roads, like me! ![]() |
