I've added you Jamila.

Maggie_May...You fill out your profile and then you can either give out your name so people can look you up and add you to their friends list or you can look up our names in the search bar and add us to your list. It's just a way of staying in touch with people and finding people you had lost touch with.

Cass.

Jamila, I've requested to be your friend! Thanks for the info, I found out how to send a request for my name to be changed.

I'm trying to find some old friends that I've lost contact with, but know luck so far.

If you go to the search bar on the upper left of your profile page, and type in global paw you it should bring you to the group.

LOL I did the exact same thing! I'd been sent invitations from quite a few friends to join, and just never felt like it. I'd had the same thing with myspace a while back, and I didn't like it. Finally I got fed up of all the invitations being sent so I signed up to check it out and got hooked on it pretty fast. Found sooo many people that I haven't seen and talked to in years, was so nice catching up and being able to keep in touch again.

I find it MUCH more simple to navigate than myspace too, and it's a lot more personal, and more for catching up and being in touch with good friends and family. Not many strangers (if at all) try and become instant "friends". LOL I had a problem with that on myspace, all kinds of people sending friend requests that I didn't know.

Facebook is fantastic for finding old friends! I've found people on there that I haven't seen/talked to in 11 years!! Lots of people from my second and third primary school on Facebook.

Oh that sucks Calgal, maybe it just takes a while for it to get through? I know sometimes when I've been told a confirmation email has been sent, it doesn't show up for half an hour. Also check the junk mail folder in your email account, they don't always go to your inbox unless you specifically take it out of the junk mail and mark it as "safe".

And for those of you that have Facebook already, check in the applications section for dogbook and catbook. You can make side accounts in your profile for your furkids too!

I checked email and web mail and it's been two hours and still nothing. I even went back and re-registered in another name and password and still nothing. Oh well, maybe it's just not meant to be.

This happened to me and I just kept redoing the same thing over and over and over. LOL I'd say after about five times of filling out the same gosh darn application they finally sent me an email.

Facebook (and any other online site) can be a lot of fun. Just beware that any information you put on the site (or any internet site for that matter) is open to anyone to view. Like the old saying goes, anything you wouldn't tell your mother, don't "talk" about it. Plus, do not give out your real name, address, phone number or any other personal information that may give a predator a chance to get you. Be very careful and, if you are, you can have loads of fun with no worries.

You can make your profile private, but your name will still be viewable to anyone.

Actually facebook is pretty good. Nobody can even see your profile until you accept their friend request. It's more a matter of knowing who you're accepting, and not doing so if you don't know them. I always ask if it's someone that I've met on here to simply send a messege with their request saying "this is so-and-so from GP". And you can have limited info viewable (you can edit which parts anytime too) to people you want to have as friends, but don't want them having access to certain parts of your info.
