I let my Dog sleep with me

I let Chico sleep in my bed with me and he loves it. Before I get ready for Bed, I turn my sheets down and call Chico into my Bedroom. He's usually lying on me bed by the time I'm done getting ready. I turn my lamp off and than I get into my Bed and Chico presses his back againgt my chest. I hug and cuddle him as I fall asleep, calling him my Baby. Sometimes he snores, and I love to feel his body twitch as he dreams. I don't sleep very well if he's not in Bed with me. I love my little Chico.

Very cute Sarge will sleep on the bed with me now and then, but he's spoiled and enjoys having a lot of room, and my single bed doesn't work for him LOL

Sheiba sleeps with me now and then too.

I used to have all 3 in my bed at one point LOL 3 big dogs and a human on a single bed... Hmmm LOL

I know exactly what you're talking about, linnie! LOL Boone thinks he's the master of the bed and he allows me to sleep with him! LOL

Though we don't share a pillow, he snuggles up in a little ball right next to me. I can't sleep if he's not there radiating heat.

Cragar sleeps in the bed with us... all we have to say is "it's time for nite nite" and he bounds in the bedroom and up on the bed. He does that, too, if I take a nap when I come home from work!

But, yea - it's his bed - you'd think a Queen size would be large enough for two people and an 18lb dog. Nope. He's a big fat bed hog. Sometimes he stretches out sideways between us and pushes!!!

Usually, though, he curls up between us, then when it gets too warm or he's sick of me rooching around trying to find a comfortable spot, he goes down to the bottom of the bed and sleeps between my feet.

And I don't know how he knows it, but I think he knows where the human bladder is. He will often wake me up by stepping directly on my bladder and leaning over my face to kiss me. Of course I have to get up then to use the bathroom!!!!!

Farley will usually start out curled up at my legs but apparently he doesn't feel he has enough room so he will usually move out to the couch sometime thru the nite. Now Princess Chloe takes that stand right from the start - she has never deemed it appropriate for a mere human to share a bed with her so if she's on it and I even so much as sit on the edge of it, up she gets & moves out to the living room!

When I was little Mom said don't you let that dog on the bed and as soon as the door was closed..... i love sleeping with my dogs. BEcause of my allergies they have to be bathed every other day and since they have very short coats we do not have much shedding. Mary sleeps against my back and Victor curled around the front. We are as happy as a litter of pups. It is warm and snuggly..just about my favorite time of day. I kind of feel sorry for dogs that aren't allowed to join. The best part is in the morning.. I call it the morning love in.because (when My friend Jim had cancer he started sleeping with his and reported that they had the same thing) there is a kind of happy tail thumping snuggle that we are all together for yet another day. Especially for puppies I think it is the most natural setting for them. I realize it is a personal preference, but until u try it.....u don't know what your miss'n. My mom says she couldn't stand it. Bronki was a top of the covers dog that didn't like too much heat so he would cuddle for awhile and then slip down to the bottom of the bed where I kept the window cracked so he would get a cool breeze.

Bailey sleeps with us sometimes. I try to keep her on top of the covers but she is a heat seeker and loves to be under all the blankets, way down by my feet. I have a ramp at the foot of the bed so she won't jump off and hurt her back. I worry about my pups since dachshunds have a tendancy for back injuries. Most of the time Bailey sleeps on the big fluffy doggie bed with Lucy. They have their own blankies that they can snuggle under. They are so cute and lay all tangled up on top of each other. I don't let Lucy on the bed at all yet. Once she is over 6 months old I'll let her but I want her little bones to form and get strong incase she jumps or falls off. I don't let her walk down the steps of the deck yet either. I'm just a big worry wart I guess.

OC's not allowed upstairs at all and that's where the bedrooms are so no he doesn't sleep with me, but on nasty nights, or warm nights I'll sleep in the basement and we snuggle on the couch together (but shhhh don't tell my parents because technically he's only allowed on his chair). My parents and I have been discussing transforming the basement into somewhat of an apartment for me so then I'd be sleeping downstairs and OC would join me...we'll see if that ever happens though...

Cheers!

Boy, that sounds familiar. Cozy is 4 pounds. If she needs more room, she will put a paw in my back and push. She's taken to sleeping in her own bed for half the night. I don't know why, but I like it. I can actually sleep without having to be aware of where the little dog is. When she does come to bed she stomps around so we know she's there.

It must be a dog thing! LOL Sunny and I share a Ca King size bed along with one cat and I am lucky if I get a quater of the bed. She thinks the best way to sleep is all stretched out with her feet on one side and her head at the other.

It is even worse when my bf is here, I get on one side and she gets on the other and she feels like he is in a straight jacket. I think it is kinda funny but he doesn't see the humor in it after an hour or so. ALthough usually she does move off the bed at some point during the night and ends up on her bed or downstairs on HER love seat. Don't even think about sitting in her seat, she will sit and give you the stink eye until you move! LOL

LOL. Yup... And it's not with my dogs. Chihuahuas sleep in their crate together. Bonnie sleeps on her bed near the Chihuahuas and Lyric sleeps on the couch usually or sometimes comes in my room into his crate. He now has choices. But my bed isn't one of them. LOL.

When I was staying in Seattle, Lyric and the little dogs did sleep with me and it was terrible. That big Doberman would get right where I wanted my legs to go or he'd go crosswise in the bed. It was too hot. I couldn't sleep worth a dang. So, as much as I love the beast, he has his own sleeping arrangements which do not include sleeping with me other than on the couch for TV watching.

I use to sleep with Chulita Chihuahua before I got Jose and that was OK. But then I let her sleep with him to ease his puppy aloneness and it's been like that ever since. Once in a while I'll let one of the Chi's sleep with me.
