You can do it, but you can overdo it, too!!!

A religious sign in the courtroom, ok that is finde, remove it, i can understand...

But then you have to go all the way, remove all religious signs from all state instituion, that includes the money, too.
Same thing with the evolution, just because some peopel don't belive in evolution, it is not supposed to be taught in schools...
what a discrimination!A descrimination to the people that are not gien the option to choose which school and wich belive they want to follow, but get put in a school where they do n't teach it.
I would feel offended if i had to send my kid into a school where they do not teach evolution.

I could feel offened by all the spanish under english signs, where is mine who cares about my origin, about all the other differen languages that meged here? But i am not. It's Something I have to live with!

It is just that it is too much sometimes, and yes, there is far more worse stuff you could worry about... but and i have to agree with what was said, people who are worried about little stuff like that, have nothing else to worry about... and idg in areas where they should not be...
and the most depressing thing is, it is all about a lawsuit or protection of a lawsuit...
wich is redicolus, and has nothing but absolutly nothing to do with beeing offended but with :"how much money could i get for that??"

The religious thing I can deal with, even the Blackfellow thing is stupid but yea whatever.

What I can't deal with is people moving to America from other contries and expect us to change, sorry but &%#*($* I wouldn't move to Paris or Mexico without learning Spanish or French and also doing my best to integrate with their society when out in public. This is the kind of stuff I have absolutely no time for.

No one put a gun to your head and said you have to move here(or stay here for that matter) if you don’t like it move back to whatever hell hole you probably came from. I’m tired of hearing you complain when your living condition are probably a 100x better then your home, shut up and fall in-line or get in a different line.

Who's complaining or expecting us to change?

Personally, I can't really see how anybody would even NOTICE anything wrong about a name like "Blackfellows gully." I find it charming.
However, if there are enough people who take offense and want it changed...so what?? It's a democracy, isn't it?

I wonder what name they are changing it to??

How about....

Geological feature that was created by running water such that it formed a deep ditch or small valley and was once owned by an indigenous individual.

The problem is usually it is not the majority that gets these things changed, but a small minority that screams as loud as a majority.

My School/Alma matter/Employer University of Illinois just went through this with our school symbol. A majority of people wanted it to stay but a very vocal minority kept at the issue and got it removed. I will not rant here about this situation, but the decision did not go over well.

People get offended by all sorts of things. That doesn't mean we should go out and ban them when a majority of the population does not feel the need to do so. If this was the case I would have every idiot who does not shovel their driveway banned from living in town, and don't get me started on soccer moms with one kid who need to drive the 6 ton, 8mpg gas guzzler.

I'm a Christian too and sick and tired of people who feel it is OK to ridicule Christians. Yes, there are some whacko and hypocritical so-called Christians but there are whackos that come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and creeds.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with phrase "Blackfellows Gully". But my opinion doesn't really matter because I'm not one of the indigenous people in Australia. Everything I've read, seen, and heard from friends down there, I think they have cause to be sensitive about some things. The Aussies and the Yanks both have ugly history.

I'm soooo against cruelty in all forms. It doesn't matter if we are talking about Christians, Gays, Muslims, Immigrants, Fat people, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, Whites, "ugly" people, mentally-challenged people, ....

I'd like to be one of the very vocal minority who support those who are not strong enough in economic or numbers to help themselves. I'd like to be counted among those who were part of the Underground Railroad, Oskar Schindler, "The Angel's Network", etc.

Don't get me wrong, I have made my share of politically incorrect statements (Lord knows I have). As long as I'm alive, I will make mistakes. However, when called on errors, I'm not making excuses or kicking myself forever -- just learn from my multitude of mistakes and try to do better.
