Unhappy my brother

My brother rang me up the other day and voiced his opinion on people and pets
He says people are stupid to spend money owning a pet of any kind
He is so worried my mum is going to get another dog.

He was ranting about why would anyone want the responsibility sooooo I said he should be thankful some of us do as otherwise we would have no domestic pets in the world

I told him in no uncertain terms that while he cherished inanimate objects and wasted his money on them, that many of us found that a pet is so much more rewarding and gives something back to the relationship
Also he has a mate so he mightnt get lonely but many people actually love having the friendship of a loyal living thing

I cant believe we are related
I do know however that my life is a much fuller life than his and my friends are good friends who love animals and have a great sense of loyalty themselves

Personally I think anyone who doewnt like animals has an empty shallow life
( perhaps he was adopted into the family)

I was saying the other night that I don't think I could ever live with someone who didn't like animals! Some people just don't get it.

Ugh.. some people just don't get it, I guess. If my significant other said to me, "It's either me or your dog," I'd say, "There's the door. Don't let it hit you on the way out." There's plenty of fish in the sea, but only one Mazie. Whoever I wind up with must like animals... Otherwise, it just won't work.

I feel exactly the same way....honestly, i don't really trust people that don't like at least domesticated animals. I feel sorry for people who are fearful of them...but have serious reservation against people who straight up don't like them. (I have to stop calling Shelby mine! She's my moms really) Trixie and Poe are such a HUGE part of my life, and they will be a HUGE part of my significant other's life (if I ever have one ). They'd have to enjoy a cat curling up under the covers with us and taking Trixie EVERYWHERE and arranging daily schedules around the animals. If they can't hack it....see ya later sucker! I love my animals more than you anyway...hehehehe

Maybe your brother was stressed or upset about something else and let it loose on animals just to get your attention? It is wierd how pepople in the same families can be so different, but I guess that's where the role of personal choice comes in.

My brother always used to say, "if we get one more dog in here I'm moving out!" He's lucky he was already gone when three seperate opportunities to add one more came along. Hehe! I think he loves the dogs more not living with them, though, and I like that just fine. He keeps telling me now that he wants a Bulldog real bad! Have to talk him out of it until he's settled and working a steady job (he's still in school right now and is going on to get his BA, so he's got a few years yet before he'll be ready to have a dog).

And I agree, it's hard to trust anyone that has a genuine dislike for animals. I think it shows an insecure personality.
