Cass gets her drivers license!
Some of you already know I don't have my license yet. Yes folks, I'm 29yrs old and don't have a drivers license.
I have a bunch of excuses for not getting it until now, but the only one that has any weight is my anxiety. I'm not going to bother going into detail about it because it'll freak me out talking about it and I don't want that because....my driving test is TOMORROW!!!!!! ![]() I'm actually not freaking out about it, which surprises me (not that I'm not slightly nervous and I'm sure I'll be more so tomorrow). I got my learners permit 3yrs ago and have been driving for that length of time, so I do know how to drive and I booked 3 lessons one after the other right before my test (I've had others years ago) and my instructor says I'll pass. I know how to drive and I haven't done anything with him that would cause me to fail. Yay! So, tomorrow (yikes...tomorrow ) I have an hour lesson at 1.15pm and go for my license at 2.15pm. I know that if I don't pass it's not a big deal and that I can go for it again, but I REALLY want to pass so that I don't have to go through this driving test again. Wish me luck everyone...keep me in your thoughts and send all your positive energy if you can. It's not the most important thing in the world but I really need this license. Ok..now I've bored you all to death, I'll go read the rule book again so I at least know every road rule there is. LOL Oh and in case anyone is even vaguely interested. In Australia, you get a Learners permit, then a P1 license and then after 18mths and another test (computer test) you get a P2 license and then after another 18mths you get your full unrestriced license. It's a stupid system, but dems da rules. They should be different for over 25s in my opinion. I'll let you all know how I go tomorrow. ![]() Cass. |

Ooooh, how exciting
I was pretty nervous on my driving test. I only got 2 things marked off -- I didn't turn my blinker on for the 2 point turn, and which way the wheels should be turned if I were sitting up hill. >.< But I still passed! Good luck! That system is very odd in Australia. Wow. We get a learners permit at 15, which we have to hold for 1 year and then we get our full license. If you're over the age of 18, you don't have to hold your learners permit for a year. You can get your permit, and go back the next day to get your license (or atleast that's what I have been told) *shrugs* I had my permit for almost two years, but I finally have my license and I LOVE the freedom! |

How exciting!
I wish you luck and I'm sure you will do fine. I got my learners permit when I was fifteen, and then a month and a day after a turned sixteen, my mom drug me down to the BMV and made me get my licsense. LOL It wasn't that bad, actually. I had a really nice lady for my instructer so she was lienient. ![]() |

Always room for one more

I am so proud, Cass! I had anxiety attacks that prevented me from getting my license for 2 years, so I understand. I prayed all through my test, "God, I can't do this again, so You're gonna have to let me pass!" I was SO stressed. lol I got the driving instructor tht failed all my friends (some more than once), so that didn't help my nerves any either.
My friends couldn't believe it when I told them I had her and she was NICE to me AND passed me the first time. So take heart! I think driving instructors (like most other human beings) have mercy on really nervous-looking people. ![]() I KNOW you'll pass, Cass! I have every faith you'll do great! It may (or may not) help to run through everything you know in your mind if you start getting nervous. Just don't allow any negative or worrisome thoughts, k? ![]() and prayers and all my best wishes! |

Good Luck on your drivers test!!
Don't feel bad about getting it at 29, my moms friend didn't get his until he was 35 lolI was really nervous during mine, but even though my nerves got to me a little...and i couldn't even find the parking break cause I couldn't think (It was also my moms car I wasn't used to driving), I still did good. Don't let those nerves get to you! |

Thanks for all the support!
I need it. It's 10.22am right now and although I'm a little nervous already I'm no where near as bad as I thought I'd be. I'll be sure to come on here afterwards and tell everyone how I went. I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for all the well wishes. Lets hope I don't frighten the testing officer. ![]() Cass. |
