our wonderful dogs

I just have to say it...
Isnt it just wonderful that we get to associate with each other and talk about our wonderful dogs.

I love looking at the pictures of them all, they look so loved and cared for.. Its great to have a place where you can indulge your obsession without people thinking you are batty lol

In a world with much sadness I find it comforting to come here and lose myself in the mutual love we all share for dogs.

I agree linnie.

This place is wonderful... compared to other forums, it's truthfully one of the best to me. Most boards that I go on, have atleast that one person that think their "poo don't stink"! and jump all over you on certain topics.

I like having a place I can come and talk about my dogs, as well as hear about others.

I agree, also!

I've never posted on a forum as much as I do on this one!!!

LOL - you're so right! I'm sure no one here would think I'm nuts for talking and singing to my dog, getting him "booties" so he could go out in the snow, and generally spending more money on toys for him than I spend on myself! LOL

Yep, I absolutly love this site. Everybody on here is so polite and you can chat about your dogs day in and day out and nobody will be telling you, "Shut up already!! Who cares if that Rottweiler just got his CGC title!" lol And also if you start talking about OFA'd hips and CERF'd eyes nobody will be giving you the blank stare that says, "what in the HECK are you talking about?" lol

Great Place

I'm relatively new to this site, but I think it is great and I plan to be more active from now on. I noticed also that you don't have to be afraid to voice your opinion, somebody will answer you or take up your cause.

I agree, this place is a haven.
I, sadly, don't have any friends IRL who are interested in dogs (at least beyond the 'aww...aren't they cute' stage) in fact my best friend hates them . I love that I can come here and talk or read about behaviour, genetics, grooming and general dogginess. And I'm also relieved to know that I'm not the only one who gets lost online sometimes looking at dog sites and petfinder.com. LOL Yay!

I'm so happy I got to meet all of you, even if it is only online.

Cass.

Cass,

That's neat what you have on the bottom of your post.."Say No to animals in pet shops." Good one!

Yup....you guys are all great. The only time I think that we get up in arms is when it comes to someone doing just that, as in that sign....supporting puppy mills and other mistreatment of animals. Then we can be REAL B******! (alpha ones at that) LOL.

Byt you're right. How else could we talk about our dogs, our loves of our lives with most people? They'd probably lock us up if we carried on the way we do here. LOL.

Freedom of opinion is a wonderful thing and we are all entitled to it. I always try to be respectful when I disagree lol but truthfully we all learn from our differences dont you think?

I have learnt heaps from being involved with a dog group

i agree with all of you. i visit this site a few times a day. everyone is so friendly. i also have the problem of no one in real life who shares my love of dogs. i used to be a bit embarrassed that i talk about him so much and take him every where i go. like people would think i was looney..now...i don't give a darn. someone on here, i can't remember who has a signoff that says" love me..love my dog" AMEN.

by the way, cass, i can't believe you get lost on petfinder.com...ME TOO! every night i stay up way past my bedtime and imagine i am adopting all of them. i have a real soft heart for the tiny senior dogs that just want to live their last few years with a loving family..ahhhh.it breaks my heart. and some of the sites have real heart ache stories about mistreated dogs that have brought me to tears on more than 1 occassion

also..(if i may brag about my b.b.) he is famous!! ( autographs anyone--haha) i took a picture of him and one of my foster kittens and they featured the picture on their petfinder homepage(claus4paws) the kitten, lucy, got along great with b.b. so the woman who runs the organization( amazing lady) thought it would be a cute way to show her off and she was adopted the next weekend!! 3 cheers for b.b.!!! who will be doing oprah and david letterman next week-haha

ROFL We must be related. Hehehehe! I've found myself looking at the clock on my computer, after what I thought was only an hour or so going through page after page (state after state) of adoptable dogs, only to find out it's 2.30am and I reeeeeeeeeeeally need to go to bed. I imagine I'm adopting them too, you have no idea how much better I feel knowing there is someone else who does that.
It's unfortunate that there isn't an Australian version of the site, because sometimes I really do want to adopt one of them, and like you (again! ) it's usually the oldies who attract my attention.
I'd love to open a sort of 'retirement' village for senior dogs that need homes. So they can live out their days in comfort, surrounded by love. Of course that would cost a lot of money...which I don't have. *sigh* Maybe one day.

Cass.
