Incredibly sad...

Two children died of overheating in car and then were bathed dressed and put in trash bags under the sink by their mother...

That is really sad, those poor babies. I'm wondering if the mother could have been suffering from postpartum depression, as she did just have a baby earlier this year and the stress of raising two children on her own. Not making excuses for the mom, as I hope she ends up serving life in prision with no possibilities of parole. Just makes you wonder how some people can become parents.

I'm speechless. That is just.....so wrong. When someone does this to an animal it is heartwrenching but to a little child.....there is almost no emotion deep enough.

something mentally wrong with that woman, I bet she doesn't do any jailtime, she'll probably get the mental institution. She needs good hard jail time in a really HARD prison.

By looking that the photo in the paper, she DOES look depressed and drained- probably what caused her to do such an act(no excuse though- she could of sought help). That's what I was thinking. Yes, no excuse for what she did. She should of called 911 instead of trying to cover up the death of her kids. So far in Idaho , we've had 7 deaths of kids that were left in a vehicle. The youngest was only 3 months old. One happend to a father who, otherwise was caring and responsible- however very stressed.. Left his daughter in the car , went in his home and then fell asleep. She died . No excuse , he should of took her in instead of leaving the child in the car "for a few seconds" to run in and grab somthing. I've always been taught/told(besided it is common sence)- NEVER leave a child in a car , even if you *think* it will only take a second.

How do we know she didn't ask for help? Mental health is the least looked into area in the medical field and seeing that the brain is the thing that keeps everything else going I think it's disgusting. Our brain is what really keeps us all alive when that dies everything else does!

As a person who has suffered with mild depression I know that you don't tell anyone because you feel so bad about yourself you don't want other people to think less of you.

For someone to do this to their children something mentally has to be wrong.

Whatever happens to her prison, mental institution I hope she gets the proper treatment that she needs.

Based on the account of her reaction, she was very distraught. Like everyone else said -- NO EXCUSE. However, it is not like she pulled a "Susan Smith". It appears to be a homicide based on neglect. Very, very sad.

I've heard that it is difficult to find good, inexpensive child care. Heck, it costs $25/day to care for a dog! $250/week for 2 children (at doggy rates) is tough when you only make minimum wage ($320/week)? It is a good thing she gave her baby up for adoption.

On court t.v. they were saying that her sister who babysits alot of the time was wondering all day why she never called her. I believe there is no excuse for what she did and with the profession she is in should have known to never leave her kids in the car...

Awful. It seems lately that I hear about these things all the time, mothers killing their children, and the most common excuse is ppd. Now I have 2 children, and the first I raised on my own until he was 7,
so I know all about depression but you can get help, I think people are using ppd as a scapegoat, because it works. I hate these stories so much, so many people w/o children who desperatly want one, while others kill theirs, makes no sense.
