(******, I've just had the whole site disappear in the middle of writing this...third time today! Anyone else had it?)

Anyway...just like some input on Hoofa's breeding. I know I've posted pics before, but he's a bit more mature now. Still haven't figured out how to resize so I'll just post the link so you get a bigger pic.

Do you think he is full SBT, and just poorly bred, or a cross? If so, what with?

I realise it's very difficult to tell, I'd just like to hear your views. He's coming up 18 months, and stands 19ins. He's stocky, but not *that* stocky...and pretty long nosed.

(sore skin in some of the pics...always comes and goes, he's a sensitive chap, gets rubbed by collars

His temperament is Staffie through and through, except for pointing when out on walks!

He does look like he has a lot of Staffie in him.

Yeah he's definitely mostly Staffie...it's just when I see him next to these big males he looks much finer built...

Some peop breed dogs too big. To make them seem "tougher" or "cooler".

He looks like he has a lot of staffy. If you're refering to "stocky" as in "muscley".. some pits get more of the bull dog (muscle), and some get more of the terrier (making them less "buff")

He's still cute

Oh...may have posted before, I lose track of which forum! He was sold as SBT, and the owners have a new litter which they're advertising as purebred, but they were saying previously they were sorry but there's a chance he could be mixed. Now they're saying they found out they were purebred...but I think this may just be to keep me quiet now they have a new litter for sale

Yeah he's a little love bug!

He's definitely all muscle, but he's not thin (can't see his ribs unless its in a certain type of sunlight) and can't feel them unless I have a good feel.) He's just not as broad all over.

My BF has a purebred named Sacho that looks pretty identical to your Hoofa actually. Except that Sacho is probably a little stockier. Hoofa's very handsome BTW. I love his coloring.

did they say what they thought if might me mixed with during that whole part of the ordeal?

beautiful dog, deff mostly staff...but it could be a mix with something relativley close to it....

Thanks! lol...Dobie actually! They remembered something about a Dobe living next door to his mum, she was the last of the bitches and they weren't allowed to see the dogs.

And his brother has Dobie markings, but with a white patch on the neck like Hoofa's. Their reasoning behind saying that they were purebred was that apparently some "top breeder" hadn't seen one like it in 10 years and that it wasn't a cross colour.

I know black and tan is highly undesirable which would explain there's not many about, but surely if they thought there may be Dobe in there that theory's straight out the window! His mum's also red with the same mask...something I've not seen before in a Staff, that has come with age, and much smaller than he is.
