Got attacked tonight!
UGH - why do people let their dogs run loose?? Just now I was out running with Zuki and we were attacked by a dachshound! Well, you know Zuki is fearfull/ aggressive toward strange dogs anyway, so all I could think was, he's gonna kill this little dog. But no, my big tough guy barked a couple times then hid behind me yelping his head off. I yelled but the dog kept lunging and growling at us - it was biting at Zuki's legs. I ended up kicking it and it ran away. Of course it was pretty dark so I couldn't tell if Zuki was hurt but he seemed ok. When I got him home I checked him over really good and I don't see any blood or bite marks. What gets me is, here I am yelling, two dogs are barking and growling and the stupid owners never even come outside to see whats going on. Sheesh.

That sounds horrible! You would think that the owners wouldn't let their dog run loose if it new it was aggressive in fear of their dog picking a fight with 'the wrong dog.' I don't know what I would do if a dog came running at me! *eek* I hope you don't have to deal with that again!

Wow that would of freaked me out. Glad to hear you guys are alright. I think I'd try and find out who owns the dog, to let them know what happened. You may save someone else from getting attacked.

How awful.
I'm glad you're both ok. The sad thing about this is that if the dog does pick on someone with the 'wrong dog' one of these days and gets badly injured or killed...you know which dog will get the blame, right? Cass. |

It's awful how some owners just don't seem to give a **** what their dog does. I'm glad to hear that Zuki wasn't injured in all of this. Abby has been attacked numerous times by other dogs (big and small), and it's such a scary thing to witness. Last time she got attacked, it was by a small, but very aggressive, JRT that lives in our street. The owner was lounging on her couch (right by the front door, which was open open) and she didn't even come out to see if my dogs were ok, even though Abby yelped so loudly!
Now that's an irresponsible owner. |

Yeah - thats exactly what I am afraid of - Zuki usually does re-act aggressively toward strange dogs. I am still shocked he didn't bite back. I am not sure which house he came from or I would go back. I have never seen loose dogs on that street which is one reason I liked to run there. |

That sounds very aggravating! Glad you are both okay!
And I think that's one thing these owners don't understand when they leave their dogs to run loose... just because they're friendly, they can still have the potential to chase after things (people, cars, dogs, animals)! Owners like that aggravate me. |
