anyone heard of a "diggy"?

The wife and I just recently got a new puppy. We felt our dachshund needed a playmate. She's called a "diggy" because she's a mixture of dachshund and italian greyhound. We've never heard of or seen one before so it will be interesting. We named her Cashmere, in honor of my wife's first dog who was struck by a car and later died of related injuries. She's a little pooping machine, but she is quite precious.

pretty dog... just curious, how did you come to purchase her??? you didnt get her form a "breeder" did you? but she is rele cute, and no thta is a new designer breed to me

The name sounds like a designer mutt to me.......but she is cute! Never heard of the 'breed' before because they aren't one.....so ya, she's a designer mutt. (Unless you got her from a shelter where they just gave her a cute name like that. I call Blackie a Rottador and Rose a Gerban Rottle Dog sometimes so ya. lol)

No, we didn't get her from a breeder. The diggies were accidents and the breeder didn't want them. My wife and I got both dogs from a rescue shelter called "Flaw Dogs." It's called that because if puppies are the wrong color, wrong size, have too much fur or hair, or different colored hair, or are un expected breed (like Cashmere), the breeders consider it a defect, or flaw and they don't want them. How sad that is. I guess our dachshund was considered "flawed" because she has a little bit of white hair on one paw.

Cashmere is a doll! How nice of you to rescue her!
As for the breeder who just dumped them off at a rescue because of a mistake THEY made - shame on them.

Never heard of the cross.

It's a shame the breeder didn't want the pup because of a slight fault. Poor pup... They both have a good home now I'm sure
