a hippo tale
Poodlesmom emailed me this beautiful pic and the story...
This dear baby hippo was a victim of the tsunami he was washed out to sea and then fortunately back to shore. He was found by rangers and taken to a sanctuary where he decided this large tortoise was going to be his new mum. As we are all such great animal lovers I thought I would share it with you ![]() |

Aww! So cute. I love stories that are like that. Other animals taking in babies of a different species...

aww that is so sweet! thanks for sharing. I find it annoying that the whole world has been going on about the tsunami disaster and helping all the people there, but no one has ever botherd to help all those hundreds of poor animals who must have died aswell.

Amazingly, most of the animals knew of it ahead of time and ran for higher ground if they got the chance. The people there didn't get it, so they stayed on the low grounds. Supposedly, they found few dead animals.
Here's a couple of stories I found about it. http://www.organicconsumers.org/corp/tsunami.cfm http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6795562 |

Me too. It's a shame that humans can't take a lesson from animals, me being included. Sometimes instinct can be a lot better than education.
Could you imagine how many people could have been saved if they either had that instinct or knew what the animals were doing? |
