Eyes = Mirror to the soul

Just stopping in to say hi
Things have been very busy lately, so I don't get a chance to go on the computer as much. If I do, I don't respond to many threads. I have to move my other monitor to connect it to my computer. My flat screen finally "died".
![]() All the pooches are doing well. We were fostering a Chi/doxie mix for a while, and the girl I work with took him home. He's doing excellent. All the kitties are doing well. However we were having some health problems with Jetta. Thankfully she is well on her way to healing now. My mom picked her up the other day and she let out a scream. She said she wouldn't really move and stayed crouched like she was in pain. So, we took her to the vet, and of course while she was there, she didn't do any of the things she did at home. They gave her her shots and sent her home. Well, the next day she wasn't any better. There was something wrong. Particuarly when you would lift her tail. She was holding her left hind leg up while she laid down. Took her back, she had a fever but he felt it was probably from the shots. He gave her an anti-inflammatory shot, and some antibiotics. Told us if she wasn't any better by Monday (this was on Friday) to bring her back. Well, Sunday I was laying in bed and she walked in front of my while I was petting her. Low and behold, she had a HUGE (quarter size) hole on her left hind leg, right to the side of her booty. Poor thing had a huge abcess. So, we took her in the next morning and it was even bigger after shaving some hair from around it. They opted to stitch it up and insert a drainage tube. So, she's not been a happy camper the past few days because she's had to wear a cone. She's learning to cope with it though. She should be getting the drain taken out tomorrow. The other odd thing was that he INSISTS that Jetta is not as young as we think she is (roughly 6 months). He said she's no younger than a year old based on how far her canines and molars have come in. He said that they don't come in all the way until they're a year old and hers are already in. So he thinks Pearl probably took Jetta and her brother from another cats litter and made them her own. *shrug* I don't believe him at all to tell you the truth. Kia and Spike are about a year old and she's only half their size. Not only that, Jetta was still nursing from Pearl when we got them, and she was the size of a 6-8 week old kitten. Other than that, everything is going well! I'm getting a part time job at Home Depot. Mostly doing it for the benefits cause I need to get some health insurance for myself. I hope everyone else is doing well and having a great holiday! Looking forward to more "Secret Santa" stuff And I was just thinking... time sure does fly... Kelso will be 2 in January. My wittle puppy is growed up! |

Yeah, that's what I said. lol Chloe is growing like a weed! I remember when you were first talking about her and her littermates! Didn't seem that long ago!
Thanks about Jetta. She's getting her drainage-tube taken out today, so I'm sure she's going to feel much better. |

Nice to hear from you again Icey!
Sorry about Jetta - hope things go well at the vet. This year has just gone way too quick I think - River is going to be 2 in a couple of weeks and I still clearly remember his first birthday!! |

Welcome back, so sorry about Jetta...abscesses are really nasty. I hope Jetta heals quickly. Vets insist on a lot of things we don't buy into, sometimes I wonder about my vet and things he comes up with.
