Dog Charities, any favorites or nominations?
Anyone have a favorite dog charity they recommend?

Jeff and I are working on a charity drive to start in 2008. I think it would be a great New Years Resolution for the Forum.

We are thinking international but we are checking on legal issues. Please let us know the country in which the charity is based.

Criteria:

-not-for-profit
-contributes to animal health, animal welfare, research and/or community education
-offers grants, scholarships, fellowships and funding
-provides a valuable community service

I don't know if you consider Humane Society of Canada the same as it's US counter part but here is their link.

I misunderstood the listing...good call. The Humane Soc. of US has an international branch....not exactly what I thought it was. I thought it was more like an international group with member countries....sorry, I'll fix it.
