I have a job!

Finally I have a job.

It's not much and it's actually working in my parents shop

, but at least it's paid employment. I start next Monday and I'll be there (5-6hrs north of where I live now) working for the next two months.
Don't worry, I'll have internet access up there. I just won't be on as much as usual.
Anyhoo...this will mean that A: When I get back I'll have experience and a recent job reference which will help me get another job (hopefully), and B: I can definately go to Africa again next year.
I'm putting my application (and the deposit) for the Tanzania trip in this week in fact. So I'll be all booked and ready to go (well, almost).

Don't worry, I've done the math and it all works out ok. I wouldn't put a deposit in if I thought I wouldn't be able to save the cash.

Everything is slowly working out. With any luck another dog will be in my future too (after I get a permanent job of course).
Just wanted to let everyone know what was happening.

Especially since I won't be around as much as usual after next weekend.

I'm so very happy for you!

What kind of shop do your parents own? Planning another trip to Tanzania will definitely give you motivation to work and save up (which is fantastic, I love having something to motivate me to get through my days!

The Tanzania trip isn't until next September, so I have a long while to save.

Even the project itself doesn't have to payed in full until July.

My parents have a seafood shop. They are possibly the most busy food shops over xmas down here in Australia. Seafood is big on the xmas lunch menu here because we're in Summer right now. It's not exactly what I would call my ideal job and I'm not super hyped about working there, but a job is a job.

Oh, spring fair photos. I almost forgot. Bad news about those...I didn't get a whole bunch of them like I wanted to because it rained the first day I was there and the second day I didn't go because I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in about a year and we went out and then went back to her place to watch the election and pig out on chips and dip.

I did get a few and some video of an AmStaff being gaited. I'll post them this afternoon.

I also got my scanner working finally so if anyone is still interested in my recent trip to Africa I can post some animal pictures.

I got great giraffe and elephant ones and of course there is the caracal.

I had a great time at the Spring Fair but it started so late (5pm), I didn't get to see the dogs I really wanted to. I saw so many beautiful American Staffordshire Terriers though.

Wow they were gorgeous. Even got to see a Clumber Spaniel (my favourite spaniel breed) and the cheekiest Bull Terrier (miniature) who didn't want to perform so the girl had to drop out. LOL

Anyhoo..when I get back this afternoon I'll start posting pictures.

Sounds like things have really started clicking for you now. Congratulations. Everything is looking up now and I know how great that must make you feel.

It makes me feel wonderful, Calgal.

My mother also suggested that my stepfather might want to keep me on, after the xmas rush, to do a traineeship which means I get a qualification at the end that I can take to any retail job.

That would be wonderful. Not sure it will happen, I'll just have to see how things pan out.

Ok...I'm now off to get these dog pictures loaded up. I'll start scanning Africa pictures in tomorrow. I'll just scan the best ones in though.
