It will take time I can tell.
One of my previous dogs was severely people shy, she was raised on a farm before I got her at 9 months old where she only bonded with animals and not humans. I wonder if the dog is just scared of people...how does she act around other dogs? It might be hard to tell with all that is happening at the hospital and all, but your description made me think of Mayce and how she would react to strange people.

I'm so glad you are willing and prepared to take care of 'Angle'. She really needs dog-lovers like you to fight for her and give her a chance.

I meant ad to find the old owner. My god I am just covering all my bases. See dogs4lifes post above. Thats why im taking everything into account. I will not give her back to an abusive family. And she is fine with us we are doing no different with her than a rescue. Once again I have does this before.

Everyone needs not jump all over me. I can just not update you all about her at all if this is how it will be.

I'm not jumping on you i'm just trying to help. I just didn't think it would be necessary to find the old owner. Good luck with her!

I'll try to explain why I posted about finding the original owner...

You never know why the dog was out wandering with obvious signs of injury. You hope no one did it intentially but as we all know, some people do dump dogs in rural areas all the time, hoping they will "just go away". But the dog could have great owners that just made a bad decision. Like tying the dog up to a tree while visiting friends out in the country. The dog got loose and cannot find it's way back. It could happen...

Here is a similar true story about a Chi named Heidi.

I have a great friend in town who lost her Dad's Chi who was from a different town. She is not sure how the dog got out but she assumes Heidi snuck out while someone opened the front door and they did not notice. The dog did not know the town we live in or how to get back to the house (the dog was visiting). The dog was seen around town...mind you it's a 7lb Chi so she did not have much time to find the dog. Believe it or not, that dog stayed alive by strangers giving her food and water and eluded capture MANY times. She was scared, hungry, alone.... She lasted 3 weeks on the streets, all the phone calls and reports stopped at 3 weeks. There has been no more sightings and they now have given up hope. They hope she found a nice family and they were unaware that the owner is looking for her. I cannot figure why someone would not know she was missing since they have posted ads in the paper for weeks, pinned flyers at vet offices, made a lost dog report at the shelter (even animal control could not catch her, they saw her too), posted on mailboxes, offered a $500 reward, etc.

They are broken hearted and are devastated. I'm sure if she was found and kept by someone, they too thought she was neglected because she would have been starving, dirty, probably lost her collar, and may have sustained injuries while she was trying to find her way back to the house.

So there is the story, It's sad and I too have seen the dog but was unable to catch her. I just like to give people the benefit of the doubt...not all owners are bad. Not all dogs know where they are when they get lost. Not all people make an effort to reunite the dogs with their owners.

So that's why I posted about finding the original owners....

Is there an update?

Sorry about the drama from my above post about finding the original owners...I didn't mean to "stir the pot", just thought I'd explain myself so it was not taken out of context

No one is jumping on you. We're just trying to help. That's what happens on a forum when you post about stuff happening in your life.
We're just being friendly and helpful. If you don't want any opinions, help, advice or contributions, don't post about it.
