Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree...

This is both Chloe and Pheobe's first Christmas and they are awed by the fact that we were kind enough to bring a real tree inside for them to play with.

Pheobe is MESMERIZED by this tree. She gets a swatting toy, a chew toy, and a water dish all in one. We are so glad she is declawed, or else all of our presents would be unwrapped and we'd have a kitten as a Christmas tree topper. She loves to chew on the pine needles, and then chase them when they fall off. We are scared to put ordaments and icicles on it as Pheobe would probably use them as her toys. lol
Last night she was chasing the shadows cast on the presents by the white lights we have on the tree. Dumb cat.

After a good sniff, Chloe was fine with the tree until she realized there was water underneath it. It then became her own pine flavored private water dish. She doesn't understand why we don't want her drinking out of it, so she is usually leashed when she is out by the tree.

How are all of your pets fairing to the strange bush thing in the livingroom?

Pets are so funny when they are around Christmas trees for the first time! Harley and Abby are completely fine. Harley just likes using our tree as a nice place to sleep under, and he also uses it as a back-scratcher. When we had Ringo (our Rottie x Kelpie pup) he liked to pull the decorations off and play with them... we had to keep a close watch on him all the time.

We have a fake one, and Mandi is just annoyed that she has to walk around it to get to the window.

Dudley has eaten (well I took them away, but tried to eat) all of our homemade decorations, the baby has broken a couple of the glass balls (oooh Mama ball!!!) and constantly takes off all he can reach and offers them to Dudley, the kittens haven't paid any attention to it (yet). So our tree is pretty bare at the bottom, lol.

Mine just ignore it. They are good girls. I'm glad though because my dad spent hours decorating it.

Yesterday my younger siblings hung some of their ortaments on the tree...Pheobe thought they were the best toys ever! So now the top of the tree is decorated, but it stops about halfway down as Pheobe thought it would be great fun to try to climb the tree and swat at the ortaments. LOL

My dogs don't care. They don't even sniff or check it out. My dogs are odd.

My dog just ignores the tree. I spend a lot of time decorating the tree, so I am happy about that. LOL

Most of my guys ignore the TREE, however they all try to drink out of it. lol

Ike is a ding-dong. I don't know why he does it, but he'll be standing next to the tree and just start rubbing his face in it. Weirdo! So my ornaaments keep falling off in that spot, and the garland and beads are all misplaced lol
