Neighbor Rant Again

Holy cow may I have permission to eliminate my neighbors? Alesha just came over asking me for some computer help. I hesitated even answering the door but I thought she may have seen me. Plus she knew I was home because my car is there and my dogs were inside barking at her. Okay so I go over there help her with her issue and she tells me they are giving Snow another chance. She called the vet crying about she didn't want to put her to sleep because she chewed up her daughters' dresser. OMG. I wish I could take Snow myself because having an owner with that mentality must suck. So anyways the vet told her what I told her to do months ago….crate train the dog. When she told me that's what the vet said I barked at her, "I told you to do that." She says I know but….

But nothing ya dumb gal. Geez! So she goes on about this and that. I just wanted to run out of the house screaming. But I took the opportunity to be stern and ask her things. She mentioned how Snow was showing signs of aggression and she was scared for their future baby (she's pregnant). I asked her if she hits the dog. She told me they smack her in the nose. I told her well there's no need to hit your dog it will make her mean. Okay well that isn't entirely true but I had to tell her that cause there really is no need for hitting your dog. You can train it with out doing things of that nature. God I pray that Snow gets taken with Hannah to that other home in February. Alesha mentioned something about that too. I could just tear my hair out, the little that I have, over people's stupidity with pets. I also mentioned to Alesha how my career goal was to become a Dog Behaviorist. She told me I could start with Snow. I told her it's usually the owners that need the training. I've read so many dog behavior books and I live with three of them. I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to why dogs do what they do.

Thanks for letting me rant somewhere.

How frustrating for you! I can't believe she was seriously going to have the dog put down just because it chewed her daughter's dresser... that is crazy (and scary, too)!! I don't know how some people think that their new pets will come completely trained and well-mannered, and that they don't have to keep up training. I feel sorry for you having to live with neighbours like these.

Wow. She wanted to have her dog put down because it chewed up her daughter's dresser? I'm speechless. I really am.

Who's fault is it that the dog had the opportunity to chew up the dresser? The dog? No. It is the OWNER. Imagine that. Would you ground your three year old child for a year (killing seems a bit extreame in this example) because you left him unattended and he got into some markers you had left down in his reach and scribbled all over the walls? I wouldn't think you would. So why would you kill a dog that decided it was bored, and you had left unattended, and so it chewed a bit on an awesome chewtoy (in his eyes)?

Wow.

Yeah thats how I feel. The thing that gets me even more is I try to advise her on how to help her situation. Like I told her months ago to crate train the dog if she was gonna leave it in the house. It took the vet telling her to do it before she thought about it.

I have offered several times to find Snow a better home but she insists on keeping her. I wish and pray that the neighbor wises up in some way.

Next time she brings up the dogs or rather opens a window of opportunity for me to express my opinions. I'm gonna use that reference of the child. She has a 7 year old daughter and a kid on the way so maybe that will relate to her pea brain.

I'm near the point to where I cant stand to even talk to her, but for the dogs sake I must.

See, that is something else I don't understand....she was going to kill the dog to get it out of her hair, but she doesn't want to give it the opportunity to find a new, happy, loving home?

Again, wow.

This is why I prefer dogs over people. I'm heartbroken for this dog.

Yeah this is really getting to me, but I just don't see what I can realistically do. I mean I would take the dog if I could but I am not able to have that many pets. I just can't provide for everyone, ya know and it breaks my heart.

I think my neighbors got rid of Snow. They stopped talking to me and I haven't seen the dog out in about a week or so.

Again if we made it more difficult for people to have dogs we wouldn't have this problem along with many others. These people don't deserve a dog.

I was thinking the same way. This woman probably does stupid stuff with her children also. It is a shame that the children will be raised to be bad pet owners also.

Yeah it is beyond me how people can be this way. I sure hope the dog is in a better place now.
There are so many issues that need to be addressed and handled with ownership of pets in general. But unfortunately with so many irresponsible and uneducated people it is hard to get control. In a perfect world only people that are serious about owning a pet and willing to be educated on proper care would own animals.
