dog food scare

I just read the most horrifying story that happened to a kennel in Australia.

The owner had a family crisis so to save time she fed her breeding stock commercial dog food.
The result was she lost 5 of her dogs. The autopsy showed it was the food. Needless to say the vet and her are going to prosecute but this doesnt bring back her lineage she has worked so hard to produce.

I can only imagine her anguish. Another good reason for home feeding.
Those poor poor dogs, it makes me feel so sad to think their beautiful lives have been lost due to some rotten company

Oh my goodness, that's so sad. I wonder which commercial food she fed them?

Cass.

How do they know it was the food's fault? Was it malnutrition or something? I'm curious. I mean, I am pro-raw and everything. It's just a little fishy that they can cut open an animal and say "Yep, it's the digested food's fault".

How tragic. I'm really curious as to which company the food came from.

Ann N. Martin who wrote the book........FOOD PETS DIE FOR, lost her dog the exact same way........rancid dog food. This was the starting point of her having the company in and out of court for over 7 years.

How awful. That poor lady. Yes, it would be nice to see the source of this report. That is just, plain creepy. But it must be rare when you think about all the commercial food being fed and never hear about something like this. Gee wiz.

Whatever it may be, for the sake of my dogs, I would want to know the source of those reports, as well as any possible media reports accompanying which.

No one believed the reports of deaths accompanying dogs dying rather suddenly (1-2 weeks) after having consumed Pedigree dry food. Not till several thousands of dogs in Taiwan and Asia died from the sudden onset of severe liver failure and accompanying (traceable or not) organ failure.

By then, it was way too late to do anything to prevent other dogs dying till the whole thing blew up in the press major big time.

I do not know personally if dogs died after 1-2 weeks of consuming Pedigree dry food, but I would like to keep uo to date with any possible commercial pet food scare ... just to be safe.
