What a tough one. Like everyone else I've loved each & every dog I've ever had. I have had many mixed breeds, 2 Great Danes & now my 2 standard poodles. I absolutely love Great Danes - they are truly gentle giants who unfortunately aren't usually with us as long as many other breeds. But after all is said and done, I think I can honestly say overall taking into account all factors - personality, ease of training, live span, etc. Standard Poodles are definitely on top of my list as far as one particular breed goes.

I haven't been "owned" by many that were just one breed, but the ones I have, had all had their idiosyncrasies for sure. I don't think I loved one breed more than the other, but as I got much older, it became easier to take care of the small ones and especially the non-shedding, so I chose the Yorkie. I love the terrier attitude anyway.

I haven't owned that many dogs in my life, four to be exact, a terry mix of some sort, a Silkie, a bearded collie mix and Sunny the mutt mix extradrinare! LOL

I really don't remember much about the terrier mix, we lost him when I was 5.

Silkie was a cute dog but we ended up giving him to my brother because my parents split.

Whimper my Bearded Collie mix was the love of my life! I got her when I was 17 and she went everywhere with me, was with me through thick and thin and I loved her for that. I lost her when I was 32 from old age. The only thing that I was a pain about her was that long hair! I spent more time grooming her but she did look beautiful when I was done!

Now I have Sunny the wonder mutt! I love her too even though she is the only dog I know that will bark at the wind or leaves blowing down the street! I love how sweet she is and loving and always there for me! I also love the fact that she has short hair! LOL

So I guess I can't really choose, I have loved them all in my own way and they have all played an important role in my life!

my pit bulls, specifically luce. she is everything i wanted in a dog (plus a whole bunch of extra insanity that i wouldn't wish on anyone! haha)

my other options are just not remotely appealing to me: my parents had a newf when i was little, followed by a cocker spaniel, whom i adored but is *not* the breed for me. my first dog i owned by myself was a miniature poodle who i didn't choose but was chosen by (she was 15 when i got her and a sad story). the first dogs i chose myself were my pits, and i absolutely chose the right breed.

I don't think I can pick just one either! Can I pick three?

My parents had German Shepherds and Labs when I was growing up and they are all wonderful and deserving to be mentioned but my three breeds are the ones I have now. My Great Danes, Dachshunds and Border Collies. (I'm with you Rip's Girl! I will always have a BC!) Of course there are other breeds I want to own along with always having my three breeds. A Standard Poodle, Pomeranian, English Cocker Spaniel, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Siberian husky, Saint Bernard, I could go on and on!

Well, two of my girls are mixes (a Canaan/JRT and a Collie/GSD). The third is a Lab....I love all their personalities and appreciate one more than the other and certain times, though I love them all equally. But one of my favorite breeds is the Labrador Retriever....angels.

I've only owned three dogs in my life (since I was 9), and I still have two of them. Abby is the only purebred dog I've had (a Chihuahua), Harley's a mix (JRT x Maltese) and Ringo was a Rottie/Kelpie. They've all been so different from eachother, but I can easily say that Harley (JRT x Matelse) has been the most demanding dog of the lot!

Hands down my Newfoundland Molly. She was sweet, gentle and loyal, you could laugh with and at her, cry on her shoulders and tell her your deepest darkest secrets without being judged in anyway. A true hallmark of the breed. When my neighbors kids were outside playing she would insist that she be out there as well. She would lay down at the fence and watch, if she felt they were playing to rough she would bark, untl they stopped. She never let a child out of her site, and would consistantly remind them or redirect them if they were getting into trouble. Simply amazing creature. Her best friend in the whole wide world was the yorkie that lived behind us. They LOVED each other and it was hillarious to see them play together, because of the size difference.

Best breed for my lifestyle and personality: greyhounds. Yep, without a doubt. Loving, silly, refined, dignified, intelligent, extremely healthy, right amount of exercise requirements, minimal grooming, drop dead gorgeous, eyes that will melt your heart, a breed that still knows how to "do it's job" - and loves doing it, couch potato-snuggle bugs most of the time...to me, they are the perfect dog. I can see why mankind has kept them around since ancient times.

I love Harley with all my heart, but my favorite dog would have had to been my rott lab rescue. Our bond was so strong, inseprreable. He actually brought harley to me
