If you liked that story Luckydog, you are going to love my other vicious pitbull story. A few years back, I left work pretty late and on the way home, I saw a white pit with black spots walking up and down the street. It was a really busy street, so I decided to just pull over and follow him around for a little while to see where he was going. He had his dead down and seemed to be searching for something, I think he had lost his way and because it was raining out, he was having difficulty picking up a familiar scent.
I got tired of following him and decided that I could not wait for him to find his way home and just hope that he did not run into the traffic. I tried calling him over to me but he wanted nothing to do with me, he was on a mission. I grabbed him by the pink bandana that was around his neck (it had his name on it--Fred---but no other info was on the dog) and took him over to the car where he reluctantly got in. It was now around 9pm and I already had 3 foster dogs and 4 cats at home so I was going to have to take him to the local shelter a few blocks away. I had a key to get in even though I didn't officially work there but because a good friend of mine ran the pound and I was a volunteer there---so I decided it would be a safe place for him to be for the evening and then work on finding his owner in the morning. Problem being, the shelter is right next to an Ice Rink (they share the same parking lot) and there was a hockey game going on for the high school. There was a police officer stationed right in front of the entrance that leads to both the rink and the shelter. Now just because I have a key, doesn't mean that I am supposed to : ) So as to not get my friend in any trouble, Fred and I decided to park across the street in the dark and wait for everyone to clear out. It was nearly 11pm now and most everyone had gone, I was merely waiting for the officer to take off, when a huge tractor trailer pulled up behind me. The lights on it are blinding me but I can see the figure of a big guy getting out and heading over to my car. I am more than just a little nervous about this being female and all alone but then I remeber that I have this monstrous pit bull sitting next to me in the front seat. Who on earth would dare to mess with me with such a frightening beast by my side? Yeah Right!! Fred got one look at him and flew to the back seat, I can hear him wimpering and trying to wedge himself behind my seat on the floor. As the guy gets closer to my vehicle, I can smell this foul stench! Fred is letting them rip left and right he is so nervous. The guy knocks on my window and lord knows I don't really WANT to put it down, but the dog's toots are suffocating me---I had no choice. Mind you, he is wedged so close to the floor now that all I can see is his tail and I know the guy can't see him at all..... so I'm thinking, GREAT, this guy is gonna think it's me!! He starts to ask me for directions. He was looking for the highway and had just passed the on ramp a few blocks back. I tell him to just turn around till he sees the signs for the highway, but he wants street names. All of a sudden the dog rips the loudest one I have ever heard and my god did it stink!!! The guy takes a few steps back cause now I know he heard that and unless his nose is broken, he had to smell it!! He must have been thinking, "what the hell did this chick eat". At this point, I have my head almost completely out of the window and my eyes are tearing, the smell is sooooo bad. I'm like "look buddy, just go back the way you came, I really gotta go". He didn't argue with me, he just looked puzzled. As the guy starts to pull away, guess who decides to jump back into the front seat with me and he looks at me as if nothing happened? The cop has now been gone for awhile, so I take him for a little walk around the dog pound, thinking that he has to do number 2's really bad. NOTHING!! Not one little tird came out of this dog and we walked for a good half hour. What a big baby he was---very very sweet and gentle dog. Well, now it's close to midnight so I get a blanket and some food and water for him and put him in a large crate in the lobby near the entrance. I put a big sign on the crate that says, "I am extremely friendly and lost, just staying the night". The next morning, I get up to go get him to search for his owner but my friend who runs the pound meets me at the door and tells me that his owner was standing outside the door before they even opened crying and showing her Fred's photo. She was a young girl (mid 20's) and she was devastated. She said she put him on the leash for a few minutes to go to the bathroom and he must have gotten very scared because that evening we had very loud thunderstorms and somehow he got his collar off and ran (yeah, big surprise there!!!). Anyway, my friend tells the girl that they do not currently have a male Pit matching Fred's description but encourages her to come in anyway to fill out a missing form to be posted in the lobby in the event that he shows up. So she does, and the first thing they see upon opening the door is Fred all excited and shaking his stinky butt with excitement at the site of his owner. She picked him up with a pink fluffy blanket---must have wanted a girl but ended up with Fred? So all went well, and eventually my car did air out : ) Pit----very very vicious : ) |

I finally got to see the video....I am speachless. I have always been a firm believer that "any dog can be trained to be vicious"....it's not the breed, it's the owners. Those puppies.....again, speechless. This is one of the few times in my life that I actually have no words. Thanx for sharing the site.
