This is horrible for that poor little puppy. If you are absolutley sure that she is dehydrated and suffering please make an phone call to your local SPCA. You can alert of them of the situation, and you can ask them to keep your identity confidential. This is a matter that can not be ignored. I understand what it is like coming from a small town, I come from one myself, but sometimes we have to put that aside. I understand how difficult this is for you, and I congradulate you on your concern for this puppy. I just can't bare to read anything more about this puppy waiting to die. Something has to be done before I read on this post that she has passed away. Please!!!

my SPCA is over 3hrs away. Trust me, if I could do something, I would have done it by now. I'm doing all I can without causing an issue in the town. I hate not being able to just take care of the issue. It hurts me to know that this is going on. But at this point there is only so much I can do.

I understand where your coming from; I also can see how it's tearing several people up to know this is going on but it does help to have folks to talk to about it and your concern and big heart are very obvious.

I know your doing all you can and I'm sure would do more if you didn't have to live there but unfortunatly sometimes things like this do come up and we have some very hard decisions to make in our lives. An old saying or more of a statement comes to mind that I was told over and over again while in the academy..... " Never poop in your own backyard." Do that enough and you become the outsider.

If your ever able to talk to the woman and put it bluntly that this little pup is going to die if she doesn't do something about it without getting caught up in a mess..... I'm still more than willing to take the pup in and see what I can do for her.

Thank you so much Crossfire...I'm gonna stop by there today and see her. The kid said she is doing "ok" but I want to see for myself. You know how that goes. I'll keep you posted on the situation. If this pup makes it, it will be a miracle.

I agree, it will be a miracle if she makes it and you know, if she does then I truely hope that she finds a wonderful forever home that realizes just how very special she is and what hell she went through.

We're still keeping our fingers and paws crossed here that she makes it on her own.

Well, the pup is gone. Passed into the fields beyond. I expected it, though. The shocking thing is they want to breed the mother AGAIN!!!! I tried to tell the kid it was a really bad idea. I gave all of the reasons...age, timing, puppy survival, survival chance of mom, etc. But he said his mother already has her mind made up. I am just sick. When he said that, I just shook my head and walked away. It's completely out of my hands, and at this point I refuse to have anything to do with these people. I am mad and sad all at the same time. My hands are tied here.

Oh, how sad. What is wrong with people? Do you think any literature on the subject would make any dent in these peoples' thick, brain dead skulls? I am so sorry you're so close to this. How frustrating and saddening!

I'm so sorry you had to go through this; its a terrible feeling and even more terrible when you have to be right there to watch it all happen. Somehow I just knew they wouldn't stop there, too many losses and as unfortunate as it may be, it sounds like their way of thinking is "what the heck, its free to breed them."

I am thankful that little girl doesn't have to suffer any longer and can now rest in peace.

Crossfire, ya know, I really thought that after all of their "worrying" over whether or not mom would make it through the delivery that they might stop. Shows how naive I can be. The mom was given to them 9 years ago by the boy's aunt. When he told me they were going to breed her again, his cousin (who is 14) just stared at him in shock. She looked at me and said "There is nothing we can do to stop them." She was very upset.

I have "washed my hands" of them. I don't even go to visit anymore. I am angry and bitter, and don't want to be around them. It is obvious they don't care about the dog, or the welfare of the pups. I am just sick. I'm sorry for dumping this issue on everyone, but I can't talk to anyone around here about it, and I had to tell someone.
