Good to be back!
Hey all! I've been roaming the country the last couple weeks for work. Did a quick stint in Atlanta and then one in Chicago. Had a total blast both places, but I'm going to have to say I'm now pretty partial to the Windy City! LOL
There's no way I could possibly go through all the threads I missed, so I'm just starting out fresh. Hope I didn't miss anything too important. Sure did you miss you guys. And a quick FYI: After months of riding that old emotional roller coaster with my dad's illness, we're finally moving forward and with good news. His Hep C is a rare strand and is easily treated and he'll only have to be on chemo for 6 months, not a year. Also after the biopsy report came back, the doctor has now said Dad is too healthy to be put on a transplant list and as long as the Hep goes into remission like it should and he stays on a strict diet, he could quite possibly be okay. For a long while anyway. He started treatments last week and last Friday took the first chemo shot. He was pretty sick Friday in the night (fever, chills, nausea, the works) but by Saturday afternoon was ravenous hungry and had a great amount of energy. I realize this may or may not always be this way, but God was it good to know it was bad right off the bat. I know all your prayers and thoughts helped make this happen. I can't tell you how much all of you "strangers" (LOL) have become such a wonderful addition to my life. |

Thanks guys. Nope, the little rascal got a two week vacation from his momma making him mind and work for stuff. One week with Grandma and Grandpa and the next with this 3 girlfriends. He couldn't say which week was the best. He was totally spoiled rotten after my parents house though. He's their only grandchild, so it's hard to lay down the law there. LOL

Oh Karli, I am soooo happy to hear about your Dad! I posted a few weeks ago and never heard anything, but that must have been because you were away! I am glad you had a good time on your trip and that you are back home safe and sound. I will keep your Dad in my thoughts and Prayers!
