I still think rehoming the dog would be in the best interest of everyone. I know they must have love for the dog, but that alone doesn't make for a good home for him.

ChiChi, you are wonderful to even be concerned about the poor dog! Not many people would give this much thought for a dog that's not even theirs. Yes,maybe someone in the neighborhood can take him. I'm just mainly thinking of the energy level of a Brittany and how much work they require to train and keep happy and entertained. Good luck and keep us updated!

the achilles tendon in a dog is the common calcaneon tendon - its made up of no less than 5 muscles and their respective tendons.

if you "clip" it, or break it in any way, the dog is lame. many dogs cannot extend their legs, others cannot bear weight on it (depends on how deep it is broken).

we just repaired one of these today (Accidentally ruptured). the dog has to wear an external fixator for weeks.

Ok I feel very sorry for the dog! The poor thing isn't getting what he needs, which is training! I hope they get him into a training class or rehome him. How aweful it would be if the dog got hit by a car.

I am glad that vets no longer do that procedure. How horrible to even think about let alone plan on doing!
